Finally cleared the final boss today and got the chief in the party, I was expecting the final boss to be untold levels of bullshit, but It was actually somewhat easy.

Now its time to work on postgame, but I think first I will farm vampire in the last dungeon for another book, that nullify silence is a godsend for my mages.

Oh don't get me wrong, it was one of my favorite games on the vita. It's just that it got extremely tiring to play as the dungeons just got more and more frustrating, and i'm fairly sure I was using subpar classes with wrongly leveled skills. I could lower my level and reclass, but that would take motivation I don't have. Still extremely hyped for the DT2-2 though.

To maximise your damage you need to design your Mitama Skill to match and synergise with Any of your attacks.
That's actually one of the fun puzzles in Kiwami.

Even if you have a powerful skill like Gauntlet's Flurry, you need Mitama skills to truly make that skill shine and become overpowered.
There is nobody who goes into Ultimate without Mitama combination which works well together with the weapon of choice. This is standard practice to use strong attacks with weaknesses, and then use Mitama to address those weaknesses and boost the attack to new heights.

Gouge's weakness is the constant focus drain.
So you use Strong Gouge when you have a Mitama skillsets which have enough Focus recovery or Focus leeching to deal with that.

Pretty easy. The most boring thing to do is probably to choose all the answers for the letters, but luckily you don't have to finish a route to get the answer checked as used. There's a couple trophies that involve going from one place to another to collect some stuff, guides are made for those kind of things. Shimanekko trophy especially would be pain in the ass if you didn't know where to go.

I just did three routes by myself and then used the guide for the rest. Took me 5 days with an somewhere around 2 hours/day gametime. So probably something over 10 hours in total? Without a guide more, but still probably under 20.

"Frobisher Says" is a warioware clone that's okay if you have a bunch of people around, I think it has pass-the-system multiplayer. I played it a couple of times when it first came out but didn't really touch it since.

"No Heroes Allowed" is a "Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord?" spin off, I've never played it but WDIDTDTML was actually a lot of fun on PSP so it could be good?

I just saw one called "Vitamin Z" that's about zombies and fruit. Sounds original.

Seeing how Shallie Plus is happening with a long awaited physical version in EU, too, I've read some thoughts about original Shallie and the opinions seem to vary greatly, especially since many have considered Shallie quite a weak Atelier game when compared to the earlier ones. I've seen some criticism over losing the time limits, but that applies to Sophie as well, and didn't people like that one?

I would be thankful if any of you guys could share your opinions of the original Shallie or, in the best case, about the Japanese Plus version, if you have already played it.

Haven't played Shallie Plus, but Sophie made up for it by having an interesting puzzle based synthesis system, that goes well with having several high quality ingredients appear only on certain times / events, often having to fight reasonably challenging (but fun) opponents to gather them, inside dungeons that are well designed by Atelier standards. Also good OST and adorable characters to accompany you during your grind.

Shallie had some problems when they developed it, and it kinda shows. It was the first game truly without a calendar in a long time, though E&L had pretty meaningless calendar as well. And as before, this had a dual heroines which both have their own stories. Too bad they left Steras story pretty barebones when you compare it to Lottes, it just isn't as interesting.

The battle system is great in my opinion, one of the best ones in Atelier titles. You'll see when you play it. It's not a fulfilling ending to the trilogy, especially the original one wasn't when you didn't even see Ayesha there. From what I've heard, the criticism for the plus version comes from performance (no surprises here) and that the plus scenes feel like glued on to the main game. Which I can also imagine to be the case since that's how they probably did it, just insert a proper plus scene somewhere in the original game and not doing too much to edit the original to make it flow naturally. It's pretty expected when you know that the budgets for these games aren't the greatest.

But anyway, I've already preordered the EU LE so I think I have my expectations in place, it's going to hopefully be a better ending to the trilogy than what original Shallie was. And this time I don't do the mistake of starting with Lotte, Stera should be done first since it's the weaker story.

Thanks for your input! I'm currently waiting on a few things before placing my pre-order for the LE, since there isn't really much of a choice if you want to have a physical EU Atelier Vita release. Shallie has good characters and music, but I guess that's all.

The loss of time limit is certainly disappointing, but the difference with Sophie is that Shallie is just too easy in everything. Alchemy system in Shallie is rather unique, but end-game most of the synthesis ended up being spamming earth elements. Same goes for the battle, interesting system but the batlles are literally the easiest since original Rorona that it gets boring quite fast.

All in all, for me personally, playing Shallie+ after playing Sophie was quite a disappointment.

I thought Switch would replace 3DS and be Vita's competitor. That'd hopefully make Sony announce Vita's successor faster to prevent developers jumping ship.

Then a few days back, it was announced that Switch would replace the Wii U instead. I think it's silly, given how powerful Wii U is compared to Switch's rumored spec. But if that really is the case, then Vita will most likely remain the way it is, and Sony will just lay back and enjoy their competitor flop from their own mistake while they do nothing.

If Nintendo puts out another handheld alongside the Switch, then they're fucking stupid as shit. They need to badly consolidate their handheld and console markets into one, which is the Switch I hope. Sony on the other hand, really needs to hit the drawing boards when it comes to their next portable system. I really hope there will be another one, but it really needs a bit more love, care, and a halfway respectable chunk of first party support to actually let it get off the ground elsewhere in the world.
