I'm not the tier list anon but Northstar is really good if you play to its strengths. The fact that you can charge your railgun, peek a corner for a split second and drop nearly a full bar from a titan's health is pretty great. Cluster missiles are fucking deadly too.

I've tried Scorch, Ion, and Northstar out so far. I like all 3. Ion feels sort of plain, scorch is fun but I'm shit at him, Northstar seems pretty neat but I'm not sure what loadout I should use with it and is it good if the rest of my team isn't or doesn't have titans up to support me?

For Northstar i'd recommend enhanced payload for the cluster missiles. The larger blast radius is very noticeable and the extended duration catches players & titans all the time for me. I also use extra dash but that's more up to you since Northstar gets 2 dashes already. Don't hipfire the railgun, ever. You can do fine without other titans backing you up, stay mobile and charge your railgun for titans.

It's good half the time, but I've noticed if you friend up with just 1 other person you can get pulled against bigger premades that are already gen 6 and are in full neet mode, which is boring. Otherwise the solo matchmaking is hit or miss as you can sometimes get fucked over by it

Terrible list. Titan grenade launcher does a fuckton of damage and isn't difficult to get into position to use. Scorch is the best on closed in short maps. Holo pilot as f tier? That's some bullshit. I've killed a lot of decent players using it to trick them. The pilot missile launcher is also pretty great in the right hands.

Getting 36 pilot kills is very high. Most good players should hover around 20-25, maybe touching 30 every now and then. 36 seems a little high.

For that to happen the entire enemy team would have to throw themselves on his gun while his own team does nothing.

You should always take the long route to A/B when that happens. Their entire team will get attacked from both sides because of the way spawning works.

The damage is really bad until you can run with both ammo and reload perks, then it's merely passable. It's strength is hitting multiple titans bunched up, and being able to hit over roofs and around corners. It won't remove a titan hunting your squishy pilot ass, but it will swing a teamfight without causing one to hunt your squishy pilot ass like the big glowing laser or HEY LOOK PILOT LOCKING archer. MGL is solid damage, but the short range is a liability.

In attrition the match is depended nearly solely upon who has titan domination when the reapers start shitting up the map. Since they're worth a shit tonne of points and pilots take forever to kill them.

You can be 150 down and come back easy enough.

Because if you're fighting two titans at once then its highly likely that a lone pilot running through all the big boom boom is going to just get killed. Burn everything. Make the enemy choose between fire, fire and fire.
But more seriously, use your abilities to cut off their movements and force them into the flames with the shield or get them to fall forward or backward into fire while dipping behind cover as they burn. Most importantly, pick your fights, don't try to cover distances that won't be worth it. The thermite launcher can make a decent poke tool, hit them towards top mass and the fire will continue to burn them a bit as it falls. Also remember that your launcher will drop fire when it hits, so you can hit above a trap and ignite it with the falling flame.

I feel I'm pretty adept at using the canisters, flame wall, and scorch cannon.

I am trash with the flame shield. I remember when it used to burn rodeoing pilots off, now it's just a last defense against tone rockets.

I need to learn timing the shield and I'll get pro eventually.

A big tip many don't think of: your canisters will ignite from hitting fire. It seems obvious, but so few people understand that you can use flame wall, then pop a canister to the side of it and it'll ignite it. Great for enemies that think they're safe next to it. Canisters don't need to be traps every time.

It's less effective against Legion, Ion, and Ronin because the first two have automatic weapons and the last has a very powerful shotgun. They'll destroy your shield pretty quick. Sneak up, or wait for a reload / opening / distraction. Northstar and Tone, just fucking charge, they can't defend against it besides dashing.

The shield is best for closer maps like crash site, but it's great for pushing overzealous fools back into the flame you just placed behind them. I generally avoid longer range engagements outside of a few pokes to lure them closer while I fall back.

Cores kill the shield extremely quickly, might have been that. Outside of core damage I don't see it die faster from damage, I hold it in the face of legions and tones all the time. Moving forward with the shield is a good way to get tones to back away from their deployed shield if you started close enough, but that usually only happens in lanes where I started close. Again it comes back to forcing them into either the flame shield or a trap placed behind them. Or killing a ronin who thinks he can out damage your shield with his sword.

I'm a big fan of Battlefield (have bought every game at least once if not twice except for the 360 exclusive one) but BF1 was a bit disappointing to me. It's more of BF4 with fewer vehicles and customization. It has some cool new stuff but nothing I'd say is worth $60

I've pretty much dropped BF1 at this point

TF2 isn't going to die soon, it has a dedicated playerbase and I'm supremely confident it'll be easy queue times for at least a year.

It also offers a fairly unique experience.

For comparison R6 Siege is still alive for similar reasons (dedicated playerbase and offering things other games don't)

keep playing, youll get better. try different loadouts, level up a weapon a few times and then try a different one. see if you find anything that feels good. try different game modes. different game modes offer different paths to victory besides just killing enemies. you can do other things to help, like stealing batteries and giving them to friendly titans, killing ai grunts on the right gamemode, etc
