It's an open world walking simulator.

You explore a British village set in the '80s, encountering motes of light that represent the people who used to inhabit the area. Something happened, and you find out over the course of the game. Think of it as an interactive radio drama, with just the open world as a visual foundation. There are no clear features to distinguish between the cast of villagers--it's left to your imagination as the scenes unfold; dialogue shapes your own idea of what they looked like. I also bring up the radio drama comparison because you rotate the controller like you would the dial, to activate certain scenes.

It's a drama, not a horror game. The point is to tell a story about the end of the world, or at least this small slice of the world, and how the people in it find themselves more concerned with their relationships.

Whether you like walking sims or not, I think it's worth playing for the music and voice-acting (some of the absolute best).

It's just that I cannot stand horror games at all. I don't like that feeling of impending doom, where I expect a jumpscare every time I round a corner. I read a couple of articles earlier, saying that EGTTR makes you extremely uneasy, and that it was considered one of the scariest games of 2015.

Are there jumpscares? I'll play it regardless, but I'd like to be at least prepared.

Sounds like the people who thought Gone Home was somehow "scary." But no, there are no jump scares. You'll walk upon scenes that begin playing automatically, which may startle you, and that's about it. As far as uneasiness goes, it does a good job at creating an eerie atmosphere, thanks to the believability of the characters. I grew attached to them, and it really does feel like the village has been abandoned, though not fully. It's a strange presence.

A surprising amount of shit gets through rating systems.

The murder is fine because it's not outright shown. The most they shown is simple animations with some blood occasionally.

The rapes aren't shown, even though they're fairly blatantly talked about.

They're lenient on nipples as well for some reason. It's why a lot of western games like GTA have been showing them for years.

Most rating systems tend to work on specific checks rather than how brutal the works actually are. Which is why stuff like a T rating for a game where people get killed and raped and it's glorified at times can happen.

Origins is pretty good, but it's more of the same stuff with nothing really now.
The world is the same as City, with minor changes.
The combat and the upgrades are the same.

And they recast the Joker as Troy Baker (who did an awful job), because Mark Hamill said the script wasn't up to his standards.

It's a fun play, but if you are going for Plat, then get some friends because it has online trophies.

I think the thing that 4chan has fucked up the most out of every aspect of my personality is that I can't stand trans people.

They do have their own brands, but the majority of their stock is things that were overproduced for major department stores, which they then purchase at a discount. They have spent a ton of time and effort making sure you never realize it, because as JC Penny found out, people don't like paying less for clothes as it skews the perceived value of the clothing; It's why the entire store is marked down/on sale/clearance/with two price tags.
