People bitch about the van and the roads, but when my fatigue was in red because of waiting on the stupid shop to open, I was running dirt road with sofa, muffler, radiator, carburetor, pipes, beer and food in it at constant 70-80 all the way home.

This was one of those amazing near-death experiences I love this game for.

Surprisingly, I actually find van safer to drive than the car for some reason. Maybe because it's stock.

im having a problem with those jobs, i finished my car and only jobs i get now is the drunken guy during nights and to empty the waste tank near the store.
last time i went there and tried to empty it, it just didnt do it, i moved car back and forwards a bit till the damn hose fell down the tank and i quit without saving on the spot because there is no way getting it back from the tank.

I reckon that might be something wrong with the clutch since shifting gears do nothing.

I have analogue pedals, but only the two-pedal setup that comes with the Driving Force GT. No clutch makes this kind of a bitch- can you wear the clutch out in this? I wouldn't dare slip it as bad IRL as I do in game to get it to reliably start in first gear, but then I wouldn't do a lot of the shit I do in this game IRL.

Have you tried save and reloading? I spent an entire game day trying to get it fitted but the tick wouldnt show up, saved and when i started the game next it appeared right away.
It did pop off straight away the first 2 times but stuck for the third so i could screw it.

carb is where your problem was, I had the very same thing

Car wouldn't idle without giving it gas and would instantly shut off when you put it in gear.

Now that it runs, seems like you eyeballed the carb.

Bleed the breaks, adjust valves, make sure to check if your fan belt is properly adjusted, adjust your wheels.

After this, you can grab the warning light off the tractor and head to get your car inspected.

Probably best first custom part to get is an air-fuel mixture gauge, the one with digital numbers. It allows you to adjust your carb by using actual gauge data instead of vague feel of the engine.

Do license plates need to be screwed on? They seem to have merged with front bumper and boot lid. I don't even think I can remove them now.

Also, adjusting carb to 14 mid temp made engine run at mid temp at all times, seems pretty stable, but the power is lacking as all hell. It takes ages to gain RPM and I can't even get to 100 km/h on the highway in highest gear.

I guess I shouldn't bother as I'm going to put new carb, radiator and exhaust system in anyway.

Also, how does radio importing work exactly?

Not sure what the deal is. I got over 140 with the stock carb and my own tune, then I switched to the dual carb and I'm having a lot of difficulty adjusting it so the car doesn't die when I take off in first gear.

On the highway I can't even shift past third gear, it accelerates good but the second I go to 4th I start to lose RPMs and if I keep it pressed down for a few minutes my hood starts steaming, even though my temp is fine and all my fluids are full and fan belt is fine.

Yes that's right. My only guess is that 14 is too rich for highway driving or you're shifting gears too soon. Satsuma has issues with power at low rpm, even with a richer tune.

Also it sounds dumb but check your handbrake is 100% off.

I try to shift at about 5k. The problem is I gain RPM so, so slowly.

When I had it cranked to 15, I didn't have any RPM problems and car went to 110 km/h easily.

Handbrake idea isn't dumb, but I did use it a lot in the meantime and I always hold right mouse on it for a bit to make sure it's all the way down.

There are three things I did before the RPM problems started - I've changed my carb from 15+ to 14 mid temp, I've loosened the fan belt to just before the squealing and attached stock exhaust muffler back.

My money is on carb.

Watch your tachometer (RPM gauge). At the far right of it's arc, you should see an area that's shaded in red- that's your redline, your engine's RPM governor will kick in at either the beginning or just after the beginning (depending on the car, IDK how the satsuma in game is set up) of that area to keep you from destroying the engine. Ideally, if you're looking to accelerate quickly, you should be letting the needle get near if not right on that line (at least that's the rule of thumb, the satsuma may be developing peak power lower in the RPM range)

That is, of course, for max speed and shit. If you're looking to conserve gas and minimize engine wear, keep it in the highest gear you can without lugging the engine.

Don't let /o/ hear me say this, but driving your car along at high RPM (not quite bounce off the limiter) without much load is a decent way to remove baked-on shit from your valves and pistons, as well as blast enough fuel through the carb/injectors to dislodge any gunk. Just make sure your coolant and oil systems are filled and running properly.

First thing that springs to mind is bearings and bushes. Anything that spins or rotates in some form needs them and they're an absolute cunt to install most of the time. The bearings in your wheel hubs for instance are extremely tight and need to go in perfectly straight, which will require some form of hydraulic press to do properly.

Realistically it would be EXTREMELY loud and you'd fry the shit out of your exhaust valves as the hot gasses reignite in an oxygen-rich atmosphere.
