The difference is that Zeal only boosts Focus recovery and can have other effects like Accuracy or Power while Altruism boosts Power and Defense from the get go and these boosts can go even higher with Amplify.

Playing Odin Sphere atm and god damn, I hate german "localizations". According to the dissonance of english voice acting and german text fucking me up, the translations are AWFUL! Well Dungeon Travelers 2 has a ton of costumes for each class and tons of girls.
Its also pretty unforgiving once the game gets going. Tons (too many in my opinion) skills for each class.
