I'm enjoying Yomawari for the most part. I think the item finding mechanic could use a little work - she clues into items from needlessly far away and interacting with things can sometimes feel like it needs to be pixel perfect. I also wish death had more consequence, like if the game sent your progress back to the last time you saved/quicksaved then it'd be perfect. As it is though, death has next to no consequences. Aside from that, I really like it. The fuck is up with some of these trophies, though.

Well, if you're just asking about general opinions I think Refrain is one of the highest rated Vita games this year.
Can't say too much about MS since I'm only at chapter 3.
Probably the best summary I can say is to get it if you like fantasy based DRPG.

Personally I think it did well due to a combination of
1) doing the fantasy/fairy tale setting very well,
2) having a good (or at least interesting) story,
3) as well as having a really unique battle+exploration system that remains interesting from start till end.

To top it off, it's also pretty high quality (the 2D art is gorgeous even for mobs). This might have something to do with the fact that they actually delayed this game twice (and I don't think N1 usually does this), but it could be poor time management I guess.

I'll gives some examples for 1) and 3):
1) each dungeon has a theme, along with an underlying story. You get interesting events like bizarre characters talking to you in unknown runes, meeting an Earth spirit that can kill you if you choose the wrong choice, entering a town full of tiny creatures as an invader etc.

3) There are no random encounters. Regular and dangerous enemies appear on map in a roguelike (or Etrian Odyssey) style. Part of the excitement comes from navigating past them via planning and use of (limited) active skills. The latter allows you to do things like cloak or breaking selective walls. Sometimes you can even rotate your view slightly to see that there's a dangerous mob heading your way.

As for the actual combat, it really has too many things to put in a single post. You gradually get more and more characters, which gives you chance to slowly customize your party. On top of that, you get Covens which allows you customize your party formation. I do want to add that the drawback is it's pretty hard to figure out how things work exactly, since there are too many things to manage.

For example here, the skil stone isn't placed there by random, it's placed in front of a shrine somewhere in the forest.
So when you character does the praying stuff at the stone, you're actually praying to the shrine in front of it.

And the backgruond details are amazing too.

Exactly. It's small details like those that show that KT really poured love into Toukiden. Like if you have Hayatori in a mission and you meet up with your Tenko, he shows a happy bubble.

I admit I wasn't too keen on buying Toukiden at first, but ended up caving in because I was craving for a new hunting game until GE. Ironically, now I like Toukiden better than GE.

I don't know, story feels like a pretty subjective thing to rate. That being said, the reception (including here) has been great. I guess it's fair to say that it's at least interesting, though some parts might be controversial for some people.

One thing that I think they did well was that they laid down a few mysteries near the start and a some in the middle to keep you engaged.

The bullet types are terribly balanced. There's literally no point in using anything other than SNP or SCT.
SNP is really useful to abuse the miasmal nodes (even more so if you have the Miasmal node damage bonus skill) while SCT's normal attacks do nice damage and charged attacks instantly stagger Onis.

Reminder to use the Square+X special of the gun to weaken miasmal nodes and do even more damage.

When you're aiming with the rifle (pressing Square of Circle) if you hold the L button the aim will lock-on on the nearest miasmal node so it's pretty easy to aim I guess, unless the miasmal node is a really thin part of the Oni (let's say, the Viper Queen's tentacles) or the Oni moves around (those annoying giant imps).
Oh, and not all the bullet types can charge the usual way. When you're using circle aim the "charged" SNP bullets do not charge, they simply consume focus. SCT and PRC bullets keep draining focus until you fire.

Give it a shot, it's pretty fun. Go against some low level Onis first to get a feel of the rifle's mechanics and you're golden. If used correctly, I feel like the Rifle is probably the strongest weapon in Kiwami.
