Expending/conserving the wrong resources in CW's mid and late game is unforgiving. Despite the early game being straightforward board control, it isnt simply a matter of board control at any cost.

You are presented with multiple choices by mid game and after which, your strategic card (i.e. cards that cost 6 mana and beyond, each playable only once a turn and many only once per game) usage each turn can often be traced as the point in which your game became feasibly unwinnable against your opponent's deck.

For Pirat Warrior, there is virtually not even the opportunity to make a misplay. The worst you could do is go face when you should have established early board or vice versa.

Screwing with your opponent's cards or mana is just too broken because you have a guaranteed supply of those resources yourself.

It's why sap is such a stupid card. If you want interesting counterplay like that, you have to find appropriate drawbacks, and it's not exactly easy to just make those work.

I hit 5 with reno druid, albeit in wild. Keep in mind that the card pool is alot smaller than in other tcgs though, so you won't be able to have any radically different snowflake decks

The most success you'll have is targeting a specific deck, for example whoever thought of making the aggressive version of freeze mage to counter midrange shaman was pretty smart

Dragon Priest is really draw and board reliant.
The grand majority of them don't run Excavated Evils, so they only have 2 aoes (3 if you count the occasional inclusion of Chillmaw), it has way too much issue playing from behind since it lacks the heavy heals and removal other priest decks run.

As someone with several hundred games with dragon priest, Dragon Warrior, Shaman, and Rogue are the only decks I have real issue dealing with.

Warrior has too much charge and value minions for me to trade evenly and dropping a single minion on curve doesn't mean much when he's playing two minions and a removal spell every turn.

Rogue has the right combination of late game bullshit, 4 attack creature to dodge removal, value minions and it's own removal to keep your board clear and them ahead in cards.

Shaman really fucks your late game since that bastard always hangs on to his hexes, and you can't even bait one out with Sylvanas since there's a 50% chance she steals a totem anyway, I find myself lacking the removal necessary to stop him from completely fucking me.

Not all matchups are winnable, albeit without incredibly favorably draw. Dragon Priest really excels against Hunter decks, Druid decks, Control decks, Paladin (lol), and all the other tier 3 decks. You need to shit out your hand faster than them on turn 1-5 and be able to trade more effectively on turns 5-10.
Some classes are horribly equipped to deal with Ysera and it might be game when he drops it, same goes for Deathwing.
Actually, I find myself lacking in late game against hard control decks, especially against people who really know how to play against a Ysera/Deathwing. I run N'zoth even though my sole deathrattles are Sylv, Chillmaw and Deathwing and it's turned around more games than it hasn't worked.

Reinforcing current mechanics rather than introducing new ones.

What I really want is a re-design expansion which primarily focused on re-designing current cards that are intentionally horseshit like the ones in pic related, for example (Doesn't have to be exactly like pic related).

I don't agree with Blizzards current design philosophy on just making the same cards with +1 Attack or +1 Health and slapping it on new Adventures/Expansions. Hopefully ropecoach will fix this since he's currently designing cards.

I played yugioh a lot up until 2 years ago or so. Its a lot more skill dependant than hearthstone. You can do huge combos that can take like 5 minutes to perform and stuff. No mana so the only limitation is 1 normal summon per turn. You special summon as many cards as you want/can. Same for spell cards. Its probably pretty hard to get into it if you don't have any friends that play it though.
There are online simulators with all cards but its obviously not nearly as nice of a client as hearthstone.
If you want to try it you can download devpro. Its free and has all carda unlocked.

Big statted normal monsters suck. Its all about the effects. You can only do 1 normal summon per turn anyway and for lv5 and higher monsters you need to either tribute 1 or 2 monsters. Thats for normal summons anyway. Special summons have special summon conditions dependant on the card itself and the card type

Paladin has nothing good early if you don't put in cheap neutrals.
I can't use the 1 mana buffs if I don't have minions. Having almost only cheap stuff allows me to refill my hand with Divine Favor which allows me to drop more cards. I can get less done in a game if it ends up going to fatigue, but in an average game I get more done this way. 15-20 cards per game.

Blizzard is too retarded and cheap to have a single server for the whole world. The EU servers can hardly keep up with the load, let alone the whole world.
Every midnight you get the "full tables" message and have to wait for 10 to 30 seconds. Also the reason why everything in EU is released much later than in NA. When shit gets released at 8pm local time in NA, it gets released at midnight in EU so that less people try the new content and they lower the stress on the server.

Why couldn't I use my hero power here?

I had 8 mana at the start of the turn. I put down Steak Tauren, use Lighting Bolt to clear off an Auctioneer, and then I couldn't use my hero power for some reason. I kept on clicking but I kept on getting the message that it couldn't be done, even though I had 2 mana left.
