Casters benefit more from higher level weapons at lower sl, especially stuff like immotinder/onyx/flayul hybrids. Of course this depends on how you've allocated your stats thus far, Immotinder is probably rocking 20s int at 60, but by the mid 70s it's definitely worth to go +10 on both the tinder and the candlestick. I imagine it's the same with onyx/pyrofist but maybe bumped up to the mid 80s, but I haven't tried it myself.

I was just pointing out that if you had a good reason (casting) to go higher, then you could, because you'll still be able to find plenty of CCS and running pole shitters that are easy as fuck to farm.

The reason I'm using Immo is that it provides spell buff near unbuffed court sorc staff. Moonlight is fine but I can just pound people and cast without letting people know I'm going to cast by switching to a staff. MLGS is a better weapon, but Immo isn't just a weapon.

It also feels great to diddle on all sorts of metacancer with something most people won't even use. In dueling situations while invading I'm better than 50%, but against skilled people I just don't stand a chance.

Just finished my first playthrough of Dark Souls last night, loved that shit. Was thinking about doing NG+ but it seems like it'll be more fun to just start again with a completely different build, is there anything special about NG+ that I'll miss out on? As in something I can't just do in a regular totally new playthrough?

If I'm going to get Dark Souls II on PC, should I get the regular edition or the Scholar of the First Sin remaster thing?

If it was just a regular GOTY-style thing with all the DLC and some visual enhancement then there'd be no question, but it says that enemy and item placements have been changed around, and I tend to want to play a game as it was first experienced (ie. I generally don't bother with remasters).
