But the painting bring much new to the table when they advertised "wolf pack AI" and half the battles were artificial difficulty plus reskin (npc and big wolf boss, wolf or follower gank and Silver Archer 2.0). I liked the Crown's gimmicks that gave the area it's unique feel. In OIK, it was mostly vertical and compact filled with explosive barrels, breakable floor traps, water jugs, Maldron and all sorts of suprises you can't find anywhere in other DS maps; the same goes for the other DLCs like Sunken had ghost sanctum knights and switches you had to find and unlock (Ivory felt weak and going back after the blizzard was a drag).

Sunken King is directly related to Archdrake sect of Lindelt, most likely a surviving dragon with Nito's poison and a knight order from Pre-Drangleic.
Old Iron King expanded on Alonne Knights, OIK's coming to power, Raime and Sir Alonne.
Ivory King dlc is where former Forrosans went to led by the highest ranked Lion Knight who became their king. Also some sappy love story between the Ivory King and a daughter of Manus.

Best of all, you get to meet King Vendrick in a memory and he crowns you after beating all three dlcs.

I've been playing every day since the DLC hit and have fought at least a hundred people by now and the same old weapons I see everywhere are still being used. At least outside of the Arena anyways. In the Arena I see more DLC weapons.

One of the problems with saying "The Old Hunters was two DLC" is implying that as it exists now there's a clear 50/50 split. What seems much more likely is that it's an 80/20 split and DLC1 was nearly completed before they decided that it would be more practical to integrate DLC2 into it rather than make another DLC of the same size.
