I actually didn't like anything about the game prior to the Direct/Testfire.
I thought it looked childish and was pandering to some oddball niche Nickelodeon/90s kids demographic.

Maybe that was the case, too, but I found myself immediately in love with the aesthetic of the gameworld when I actually played it.
I remember when the Testfire changed peoples minds about the game and /v/ was flooded with 10-15 threads while it was in session.
I'm glad Nintendo did at least one thing right in the past few years.

I played a little Gears of War 4's Horde mode this weeknd at a friend's house; is there any way you could see a horde mode working in Spla2n? Here are my biggest concerns:

>maps are too small; we could prolly jus spawncamp the horde at Walleye or Skatepark
>you can move across the map too fast in Splatoon and swim away from danger; Gears is slow and methodical
>TTK is too fast; either bots would get you in two shots or vice versa
>Enemy variety, but this could be fixed by using enemies from the campaign and also giving Octos access to all of Sheldon's weapons

Is there any way you think horde mode could be implemented in a Splatoon sequel?

That was one of the earliest wished for modes, but yeah, you'd need special maps for it and some sort of bullet sponge to protect. It would be amazing to have it proper enemies though.
