So, I don't know a lot about homebrew shit. I mostly just followed the guide here like, a year ago, and learned to install .cias, and went with it. I haven't touched my 3DS since then, but now I want to update everything so I can play SuMo. How the fuck do I go about doing that? It's been forever. I have a basic idea of what things are used now (I set up the current hax via the guide on a friend's 3DS), but obviously the guide doesn't tell me how to UPDATE things from older hax. I was using the old Cakes setup.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. I have a 2DS on 9.9.0-26U with ironhax installed. I want to update it in preparation for Pokémon Sun as I'm buying a physical copy. The most I'll ever need is homebrew access so I can use PKHex. So if I update to the latest firmware (11.2.0-35U) will I lose access to ironhax or will I still be able to use it since it is already installed? Thanks.

Ironhax is deprecated since Nintendo forces a check to see if you're running the current version of Ironfall before you boot the game. Honestly, just go the full mile and follow the a9lh guide.

A generic R4 is better.
GBA injections are perfect, unlike the DSTwo's glitchy emulation.
And though Snes9x leaves a lot to be desired, it's still better than the DSTwo's emulation.

If all else fails then get fwTool to dump your NAND, run AutoFIRM to downgrade FIRM to 10.4, then run fwTool again to restore the NAND.

This takes forever so just use it as a last resort. Try different SD cards (2GB if possible) and different cluster sizes (16K) first.

I'm trying to install Twilight Princess HD on my HDD but shit is failing. It returns the error code "Error: 0xFFFCFFE9 access failed (no USB storage attached?)" when it reaches 70%.

Bear in mind I already successfully installed NSMBU and WWHD and I have 17GB free on the HDD.

Right now it's only good for downgrading FIRM because of the known-plaintext bug.

So last year (10.3 nonsense was last year, yeah?) I installed Rxtools w/pasta through browserhax on my 2DS. I've got slightly bigger microsd card for it now and I wanna use that in place of the old one.

What are my options? Can I transfer the old data onto the new one? Is there a way I can start the process over with the new on and be just fine? Is downgrading/upgrading worth it for a better CFW?

Maybe I can hack my 3DS XL instead, I wonder what firmware that things on.

Depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
If you've got an hour to kill, you should follow Plailect's guide to get Luma + a9lh. Otherwise, you can simply move your emunand to the new SD and perhaps get Luma while you're at it.

It's not a o3DS problem, the n3DS gets the same. Pokémon SM will not feature 3D as heavily as XY or ORAS. Battles will not have 3D, only some minigames will have it.
