Without the ability to impact your opponent's actions on their turn, blizzard needs to balance everything around people playing solitaire decks. The deck has gotten to the point where its so refined that there's only 2 or 3 cards changed for the optimal lists. I can't understand for the life of me how someone can play the deck from rank 16 to legend though. It's almost as boring as secret paladin was to play.

Totem shaman builds are generally token based compounding combo decks, playing 10 mana minions against such a deck is useless
If your deck has no way to remove or disrupt them they will shit nuclear fire all over you

The deck is meant to be able to survive and grow in the face of a meta where paladin and warrior are packing 4 and 5 mana twisting nether, they will auto win if you queue up with a deck that plans to win without actually interacting with the opponent

I like Brann and Innvervate in your deck though, so cut an Amber Weaver and Portal for Innervates, and Elder for Brann if you have him. I think your Arguses could maybe both be Azure Drakes, but Brann works well with both of those, so it's really up to you.

Flamewreathed is mediocre, I've been saying it since it was revealed.

The same mana is worth differently on different turns; the devs dont seem to have a clue about tempo and turn sequencing when it comes to Overload.

There's no numerical formula to balance Overload costs, you have to consider all the cards in the format and the likely plays.

With Tuskarr gone, Flamewreathed just is too much of a liability toward the total damage you output in the overall game; this isnt even to mention the risk of playing Flamewreathed, just it's opportunity costs alone.

Not at all.

You can go up against the innkeeper and play Flamewreathed and find yourself taking longer to win on average.

You lose your valuable turn 5 play; and are likely to lose your T6 as well because for lack of Tuskar, you are likely to play another Overload card, leaving you without your valuable turn 6 play; and losing that Fire Elemental play might just have cost you the entire game.

If you hadnt overloaded from the start, you'd be getting in more swings from other sources that more than make up for Flamewreathed's boost from T4.

Fel Reaver is a far better card, 5 mana for 8/8 mech and the drawback is virtually non-existent. Its a card that actually boosts your damage output and not inhibit it.

It's easier to see Flamewreathed's cost over two turns:

9 mana for a 7/7 and 3/2 + ?/? (tuskarr) or 2/3 + 2/3 (spirit wolves, but then you have to factor in the loss from the erstwhile Fire Elemental 6/5 + 3 on T6 as well)

as opposed to something like..

9 mana for 4/5 (yeti) + 8/8 (fel reaver, worst case scenario of no mana discount)

I'm glad that I'll probably be getting another pack from Pavel's win but I have no confidence in him going any further
