Let me tell you how Forced 50 works

You play an infinite amount of games. Sooner or later, you will hit your plateau or some skill level that you largely can not get out of because you either do not understand the meta, lack general game sense, or have worse technical skill than the people you are facing. You will play at that skill level for an infinite amount of time, winning, hitting that ceiling, then losing again. You will ALWAYS gravitate towards a 50% W/L because percentage is relative to the amount of total games you play. Unless you are actually one of the few best players in the world who are so above the rest of playing population that you can consistently beat literally everyone who plays the game, then you will trend toward 50% win rate. That's just a function of math.

A lot of it can be down to communication. Mercy's ult is at her strongest when she can bring her team back into a situation where the enemy team has been neutered, so encouraging your teammates to more or less throw themselves into the middle of an ult-heavy enemy team to tease out ultimates is risky, but where you'll shine brightest as you bring your team back bristling with firepower. They'll ignore you but you'll have tried and that's what separates the useless Mercies from the Mercies who almost wouldn't have done better as another support.

For the most part though, watch some videos/streams of skilled players playing Mercy since I get the sense that if you're not getting to res's on time you're walking back from spawn. The tips tell you to "play more defensively" when you have ult but a lot of new players don't take that as far as they should. Skilled players will straight abandon teammates to hide behind walls if things get a little hairy in order to pop the res amidst the carnage. This can be a fairly delicate dance since you don't want to quit your healing role completely just because you've got ult, but with some practise you'll get the gamesense.

Finally, if it really IS just that your team is dying one-by-one constantly instead of grouping, fighting, and dying together, then try and look out for the more valuable members - teammates with ult, teammates who have chosen heroes that have Reinhardt's kit exactly, Pharah, etc - and solo res them. Mercy res charges so quickly you'll often rarely regret this anyway.

I really hate competitive payload maps especially when you start on defense.

Having an intense final hold out means nothing since it's likely that if you're getting your ass shoved in that hard you're probably not gonna have a very good other side, so the incentive to stay after a .1 meters away from the goal is very minimal.

I would recommend Winston or D.Va over Tracer/Genji because your random Ana player is going to be shooting the big easy targets and it's pretty easy to take out Mercy when you're being pocketed because Ana doesn't aim well enough to hit anyone else.

I miss this flawed game so much. You could throw your mini sentries instead of placing them, upgrade them to deal more damage and your character had a grapple move that let you pull people and throw them into a room full of your turrets for guaranteed kills. I remember throwing sentries over walls to the other side to deny escape routes and the rage was so satisfying.

Came to OW expecting Symm to be that but was disappointed. I hope her changes are big.

If you defend at their spawn, you're guaranteed to lose a teamfight. It's not a defensible location at any rank unless you hopelessly outclass the enemy team.

Defending the choke gives you a much better location to defend, and its close to your spawn.

All three "meta" healers are used not just for their healing, but what they can bring to a teamfight. Mercy has nothing but healing, her damage boost is pretty pathetic. She's also outclassed by a good Ana player in terms of sustained healing. Her ult forces her team to try and get picks in a 5vs6 teamfight, otherwise the rez will just get deadeye'd or graviton surge'd.

The only reason to run Mercy is if you have a Pharah.

This game needs more content fucking fast. I'm only level 20 and getting bored out of my mind.
