Core weapon tuning is the worst gears experience I've ever had. Comp tuning is so much better and restricted to only two modes, which is complete bullshit.

I just feel like I've had the absolute worst luck possible. Everything in my life right now is crashing down on me and making my last little bit of time here before I move away hell. My best friend and girl I've loved for 5 years just got up and left me without saying a fucking word, I have no idea what I did wrong to her. Gentlemen: how do we fix horde?

there is no viable strategy on anything higher than normal other than 4-5 guys jump on manned turrets and basically just snooze while you play on autopilot and destroy anything.

all of the unique skill cards of the classes that makes them fun and interesting are basically useless. you just need 1 engi and 1 scout, and other than that, it literally doesn't matter at all because you're just gonna be on a turret.

So /gowg/, I've got a story for you.

Be me, a semi-scrub working his way up in the world, doing Normal horde on Relic.

There was me being a decent sniper, a heavy, a Super scout, and two complete noobs in the single digit levels.

Things were bad from the very start. One of the noobs took the fabricator and set it down at the back of the very back of the crypt. I didn't have a problem with it at first, just hadn't played at that position before. But there was zero coordination, and I got taken down several times from behind before getting tired of this shit and dragging the fabricator to the Entrance instead, as well as spending two waves moving the various shit the noobs put down as well.

And then all was well for a time. I picked off the occasional scion, the Super scout murdered anything that even looked in his direction as well as the stuff that didn't, the heavy was decent, and the noobs were noobs, being targets to take fire off of me and nothing else.

But then the noobs got tired of meatshielding it up right before wave 30, and decided to evolve into shithead quitters instead.

So we barely make it through wave 30, with our super scout being the only thing that kept us from failing by going guerrilla tactics after me and the heavy died.

At this point, I take up the role of makeshift Engineer for the rest of the game, and frantically go through my friends list trying to get someone to join. I get one person.

And all was well in the world, with us four actually doing pretty well for ourselves, making up it to wave 50 with two level 4 turrets and a shitload of fences everywhere.

And then a fucking swarmak spawns, immediately walks over all our defences and nukes our turrets. This repeats for 3 retries until we have nothing left and everyone gives up. Fuck my life.

I have indeed noticed it but you have to remember , the Gnasher will fire in any direction you have the screen turned when you're wallbouncing. It's not based on where the Gnasher model is pointed persay, more of where the character camera is pointed. Wallbouncing effectively is something we sure as shit need to work on.

Gears fan since 06 here. Gears 4 was the first game (besides j) i didnt buy. I was really on the fence the first few days but im kinda glad i didnt. My entire friendslist which was nothing but adds from gears 1/2/3, which was 130 or so people that played literally nothing but gears, now has about 10 people playing it tops. There was 40 or so day one but every week more and more stopped playing. I asked most of them why and most say its a combination of dumb shit, not unlike gears 3, but gears 4 lacks the small things that kept 40+ people playing it for 5+ years every night.

And i dont think its just me, all the gears channels im subbed to made maybe 1 video then died off again. I remember gearsopedia back in the day posting quality shit almost weekly. Now no one really seems to care. It makes me sad what became of gears. Especially after playing for 10 years. Heres hoping they make a gears 2 ue and dont add any of their "modern """"improvements""""" like they did with gears 1 ue.

My biggest gripe with Gears 4 is that I don't like the main characters and I think I know why. They're too young and unseasoned. In Gears of War 1, it felt like you were playing bristled old men saving the world in one last play for keeps. Now Marcus is even older and it just makes the young cast look even younger. There's also nothing to them and none of their motivations seem at all interesring either. They also don't really mingle well with each other. They kinda remind me of the three young kids at that get mobile conference.

I swear to all that is holy and celestial that in literally every single game, someone either does not load in when the game starts or someone leaves super fucking early. It has horrendously tainted my favorite game type, and if I get one match in KOTH where it isn't a lopsided 4v5 then by God that's a miracle. If I do get a 5v5, the next game is almost guaranteed to contain a quitter or failure to load. Somebody please tell me this isn't just me and that you see lots of this garbage in KOTH. I feel like it's specifically KOTH, though there are instances in other gamemodes I have noticed similar events but never as frequent.
