The deck still operated with Dante at 1 for quite some time and continued to perform well. It wasn't until OCG went ahead and cucked Tewart again and provided much better archetypes made by KoJ that actually DO SOMETHING outside of eternal floating shit that KoA can't even fucking do right.

If it wasn't for Beatrice, Farfa and that one nigga whose name I forget that affects set Spells/Traps literally would be useless and Virgil would still be a mandatory extra deck card.

Terrortop and PK just ALLOWED for triple Dante turn one, and PK just enabled more eternal floating through their traps using their grave effects, but it is still useless as fuck if you can tear BAs out of their Cir/Graff/Dante loop.

Beatrice exists to help reduce that weakness while providing them with enough reactivity to do something on your opponent's turn besides floating until you can't float anymore.

How exactly do Ancient Gears work as a deck? What plays can they make that actually do anything? I've been looking at their new support and it both needs you to run a gadget tribute engine for half the cards for some reason and doesn't really do much but plop out beatsticks.

You choose which activates first since neither of them are mandatory. SEGOC says that:
1) Your mandatory;
2) Opponent's mandatory;
3) Your optional;
4) Opponent's optional.
Also note that your opponent can only respond to your optional effects (ie Solemn Notice) AFTER both Red and Green have triggered, meaning you can choose which one goes first in activation to avoid the negation.
