Remake it into a semi crafting class.

They can make a bunch of different runes (that requires actual farming of materials, not just buying them at a shop).
Runes can be sold and used by anyone for a weak effect.

Runecasters themselves have ways of using runes in different, stronger ways. They'd get a few abilities, and attach a rune to it, the rune ability would be a modifier for the rune.
One ability might convert the runes effect into a ground based AOE, another might turn it into a buff and so on.

For example, an ice rune when used might have some effect like damaging and freezing a nearby enemy.
But a Runecaster could place it on the ground to damage and slow enemies in an area (think flame ground but ice). They could use it as a buff to gain an effect similar to enchant fire (but with ice). They could also use it as a debuff to do something like freeze all nearby enemies.

Runes would take a while to craft, a rune could only be equipped to one ability and you could only change what rune is equipped to what ability in town so you'd have to actually prepare and plan ahead and not just keep changing on the fly.

I wish questing was chill. It just feels like a race to get to the "fun part" for me. It gets so redundant doing the same quests that I've done 3-4 times and they're the same basic "kill 30 X" "pick up 10 Y" that I've done. It doesn't help that most of the classes I make are designed around higher ranks, that I end up never reaching because I can't get through the lower ranks.

I still have a stat reset potion and skill reset potion, but I feel so worthless. I can spam stuns/hook, but I do no damage. Flag seems so worthless, since the extra silver it drops is so small outside of dungeons, and the combo doesn't even do anything as far as I can tell.

No, 5k is the average number of people playing at any one time. If you assume people play 12 hours a day and not 24, that's at least 10k. If they play even only 6 hours, that's ~ 20k total. But I think 20k is a generous estimate.

In the non dead servers there's probably between 5-10k daily players per.
