Does felyne bombardier work for impact phials in Gen? In 4U it mentioned impact phials, in Gen it doesn't but it is not greyed out in the skills screen but that could be because of the ballista damage improvement and not because of having impact phials.

I think Tetsucabra is often recommended, but I know I went for Velociprey X. It's basically 4U's G Jaggi armor: Attack, stun res, some other shit that's just there, and enough slots to get something nice.

I can tell you how I do it.

First you download SoftEther VPN and something called VPN Gate Client. This is pretty much a free VPN but depends on who is willing to supply the proxies publicly. There's always plenty from Japan. Here's a link for it, it has both I think.

Simply running SoftEther and clicking on one of the proxies from Japan in the Public list gives you basically a VPN access to Japan. In this process you'll create a new Network Connection called the "VPN - VPN Client". Now you just need to broadcast this as wifi for your PS4 to pick up. I use Connectify. This is where you need that extra wifi dongle.

There are a bunch of utilities that the touchscreen made possible that are going to be a big step backwards in QoL for some players, like the on-the-fly combo list for gunners. I don't gun often, so I hadn't considered the on-the-fly item combos. Thats a really good point. The map I think could be potentially just made smaller on a higher res screen, but point taken. Hunter gauge/art I think could be a similar case as the map. But given the cardinal direction button mapping, yeah, I give capcom full credit to find a way to fuck it up.

I asked about Lost Musketing last night, and while one anon was kind enough to help, I'd appreciate a little more in-depth explanation.

I've got Load Up, Ammo Saver, and Recoil Down +3 on the set. Style is Adept, with Full House III as the only art. What ammo should I bring (aside from Crag 1 and Normal 2, of course)? What about combines? Do I start with Normal 2 to build up my art gauge, or do I just jam the rapidfire crags right off the bat?

Gen has been the first game I try ranged weapons in, and so far the only one I've used is La Foi, so I've got a lot of questions.

Bombardier is a fixed skill, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I'd love to add Artillery Novice, but I can't with my current charms. I'd need some sort of Recoil + Ammo Saver, Recoil + Artillery, or Ammo Saver + Artillery talisman for that to work.

This is not. Mounting and underwater fights both have their problems, but underwater gets much more in the way of the actual fight than mounts.
The problems with mounts were that they were too easy to land, and ledges got in the way of dodges. But other than that it's fine. They don't affect the monster's usual behaviour and that's good.
Underwater had problems both on the hunter side and the monster side. On the hunter side, the movement speed makes it harder to chase the monsters and make use of openings. Your dodges make you much more vulnerable, and since the monster attacks can make the full use of the 3D space, your limited dodging options become a problem. On the monster side, the underwater IA is mostly retarded.

Debatable. 3G has awesome designs, but at the end of the day they only aim to improve older ones, not always achieve that (Barioth and Uragaan), and reuses skeletons and attack patterns a lot. 4G new monsters are overall way more unique in their design and patterns.
