Gear wise, I'm just using whatever I can find that's level appropriate. Right now I'm mostly armored with medium "of the ranger" gear that I've been finding, a shock bow and a short sword/dagger combo.

How useful are crowns for a new player? I'm thinking of getting 2 months of Plus with the game purchase off of a gray site for 15$~, comes with 3000 crowns.

This is something that I just posted on /tgesg/. They told me to repost it here, and I thought it was worth a shot.

I live in Morrowind, and it fucking sucks. I made a thread about this a lonnnng time ago, but this bears repeating.

1. Dwemer armor and weapons are more expensive in Morrowind. The prices are ridiculous, and it's hard for me to justify buying dwemer even though I feel it's important for fans to make an effort to support the industry.

2. If you are a girl, you will be groped and treated like shit. I have had men grab my ass in public *7* different times in the past year and a half. My Dunmer friends say that women should just grit their teeth and bear it, since if you try to do something about it you will be publicly shamed. I also feel dirty and pathetic when these incidents occur.

3. Guild culture in Morrowind is...intense. You are expected to show up at social gatherings even if you do not want to. And at these social gatherings people have the EXACT SAME CONVERSATIONS AGAIN AND AGAIN. I've had like 50 conversations about having seen a mudcrab the previous day. You have to say "good morning" every day in a very specific way, and if you don't then someone will approach you and tell you that's not how things are done at the XYZ's guild.

4. The people treat outlanders like shit. Even the ones who try to be nice come across as condescending and rude by Cyrodiilic standards. There are also a large number of Dunmer men who think outlander women are sluts and that they can get you to open your legs at the drop of a hat. Fuckers.

I wish all the Morrohiles could actually visit GLORIOUS RESDAYNIA. They'd change their tune.

Templar is a very nice class, I play my Stamina Templar as my main and I have the most fun with it.

A lot of the Templar abilities have ''morphs'' forms that you can morph once that ability hits Level IV. Some of these morphs change the abilities into stamina-based abilities. (i.e, Puncturing Sweeps IV can be morphed into Biting Jabs I.)

You shouldn't really worry about a build atm, you should focus on maxing out skill lines and abilities to get their morphs available. It's better to do all of that now at a low level than later in the game.

Nords can make for pretty good Templar tanks, although I've only seen two that I can call 'good'. The sad part is that a lot of endgame content requires dedicated roles (Dragonknight Tanks, Templar Healers), so if you eventually get interested in Endgame content, you might be a little too late. Then your alternatives would have to switch to either a stamina-viable or a magicka-viable race. The upside would be that if you leveled all your skill lines, that'd be one less hindrance. Then you'd only need to get gear.

If you want to get into tanking, go for either Orc or Imperial. Nord is a good second choice too, though.

For healer, go Templar. Most dedicated healers become argonians, although High Elf is a good second choice.

Which guild? I don't doubt you. For a while ETU was the biggest trading guild in the game by weekly sales of about 50-60 million/week, but I haven't checked up on that in a while. I left ETU and BBC and joined a casual trading guild in Wrothgar so I don't know what they are grossing now.

Rawl'kha is still useful for some of these new players because zone chat sales are easy. A lot of the best traders and players park it there.

Personally the only guild stores I look at are the Mournhold and Rawl'Kha ones. In EU I know Craglorn/Belkarth is big too. They're big and they will probably have what you want.

If you want good deals you can look at other guild stores too, Elden Root and Stormhaven, the further afield you go the better deals you might find, but also the store might not have what you're looking for.

I think my favorite "fun" mod is KhajiitSpeak. It really adds a lot to playing a Khajiit character and you can even adjust how heavily it does into their speech patterns, plus it (by default) only enables for Khajiit characters so you don't have to mess with it when you swap over to your Orc or Altmer or whatever.

You'll need a much stronger setup than that if you really are serious about this game, especially for PvP

I use a 4690k and a GTX 970 to get acceptable framerates in PvP. Expect to run a monstrous set up to get 60 FPS in PvP. There will just be too many players on screen with too much magicka and stamina casting too many effects on too many enemies all at once.

You'll never get 60 FPS PvP with a $1000 setup, so don't even expect it.

The entire Rift storyline feels kinda... superfluous. Eastmarch ends on this really cool high note of everyone stepping forward with shit you recovered in prior zones and reaffirming their commitment to the Pact... and then it's ghost giant bonus hour what.

Despite being Elf Nazis, AD's storyline really feels the most coherent. It's -always- about consolidating Ayrenn's power, rooting out rebels and installing new local leaders after the prior ones got dead, and on top of that it starts out with actually investing you by introducing you to both the faction leader and a friend at the start and inducting you into said leader's secret service. It feels so much more tightly written than "random asshole stumbles around Morrowind and Skyrim until he becomes bros with Jorunn" or "even more random asshole stumbles around fighting unnatural beasts and being bros with Emeric who never employs him in any formal fashion."

DC did feel kind of random, but that was probably because the decree Emeric gave you was just "alright, there's problems in the Covenent, I trust you, so you go on ahead and fix all this shit". And so you went to all these places that each had some sort of threat to stability and you fixed it right up. And strangely enough, although it started slow, it didn't get stale for me as AD did. Bangkorai had a lot of really fun quests. The Reachmen invasion turning into a secret Imperial plot was pretty great, all things considered. Plus, recurring characters galore.

EP was last for me, because I thought everything about it was kind of bland. Out of all factions I remember what EP was about the least, because I found myself zoning out on more than a couple occasions. Shadowfen was pretty cool.
