No, the gameplay itself was not good, not only due to bugs, but poor controls and design choices in general. Plus the framerate and loading times would be awful, or probably even worse with better graphics.

Even without the kiss, the story would be an absolute trainwreck and still feel completely out of character for Sonic. And it's a good thing the game bombed badly in both departments, since we could've got stuck with that type of Sonic moving forward and that could've been horrendous.

There's no fixing 06, you'd have to change everything and at that point it wouldn't be the same game.

Y'know what? Yes, there IS something wrong with that. This is a piece of information about Rouge that raises a ton of questions. Why does she own a nightclub? Does she fund it with her stolen loot? How the hell does she operate a fucking club when she's a government spy? Who the fuck visits this place? Do G.U.N agents go there for a drink after hours? Who are her employees? The design makes it look like a casino, so does Rouge have slots and some tables set up as well?

This bugs me so much because it will NEVER EVER be explored. Club Rouge is a microcosm of everything wrong with this fucking franchise. SEGA added an element that could be interesting, and then immediately abandoned it without even a moment's thought. Lazy bastards.

Let’s get one thing the fuck out of the way: I hate Sonic the Hedgehog.

I don’t dislike Sanic because it’s a bloody meme to do so, but I genuinely do not understand why the fuck people actually praise the shit out of his games. I find the design aspects in Sonic games to be very conflicting and very rarely are they actually fun to play. Due to the element of speed plus various physics based mechanics it seems that Sanic should be some form of puzzle adventure game. But instead the level design just flat-out screams “This is a platformer, guv!” and you’re forced to some pretty brutal and specific platforming while playing as Sonerk who controls like a spastic bar of soap. And then there’s the 3D era of Sonex that’s a whole different kind of shitshow. Not to mention how Senark doesn’t even remotely look like a hedgehog anymore, thus starting the immortal trend of people drawing Sunik OCs animal characters that just don’t look like the intended animals at all. If you can look me dead in the eye and claim that Knipples looks like a fucking echidna or Rogocop looks like a well stylised bat, I will go home and eat pizza.


That said, I had a go at re-designing Sonic a li’l bit (or Needlemouse, as I like to call him) so I can look at him without vomiting. Robotnik/Eggman I’ve always actually found to have a luv’ly design (and one of the least shitty things in the franchise in general), but I wanted try providing him with a more unhinged appearance. He also resembles some bird of prey thanks to that beaky nose and bushy ‘tache.

Yeah I could NOT get the picture in my head on the page for the life of me. The reason I didn't get it finished yesterday is largely because I didn't get anything I liked on the page.

I mean the amy picture I got in like 4 thumbnails (once I made her eyes/mouth a big heart that was sort of the soul of the image done) but for bunnie I just couldn't get an angle that was like Flying = Freedom. I wanted that whole 'she might have been made a freak with robot limbs but flying almost makes it all worth it' thing down. But I had a hell of a time getting that out.

I think the bunnie one came out alright though. Aside from the perspective on her eye on the right hand side of the image.

I went through hell for the bunnie image. But she's worth it.

haha sadly this isn't a two parter, although if I get fancy I might redo day 1's FAST and make it a second part to this maybe. Going back at looking at day 1 is kinda hilarious how simple it is compared to how elaborate these inktobers are getting. No doubling in characters so we won't see sonic again! ...thinking about it, it's weird that nothing ever gets made of the fact that Blaze is essentially Empress Of The World.
I mean, I don't really expect the games to remember their own canon at this point, but I'd think Ian would have dealt with it a little.

Since she's just a princess it can be assumed her parents are still alive and doing the real reigning. It's entirely possible Blaze could also have an older sibling who's the actual heir if she herself is allowed to do all the adventuring around her world and others, or perhaps a younger brother if the kingdom follows primogeniture.

Alternatively, her "kingdom" is a constitutional democracy with the monarchy being entirely vestigial, so she doesn't really have any reigning to do.
