Did it ever become possible to play on LAN outside of Nintendo's own events, /ink/? Maybe that's something they should be putting in if they want a whole esports scene to appear. Smash is able to function as a scene because any random college or high school group can rent a space, put up flyers and invite people over to play locally. The players make the events, and they can do it whenever they want on their own.

As said, games with motion controls are coming to the system, plus everything has gyro nowadays, from every phone to the PS4.

We got about 1.5s of gameplay footage that showed no UI at all. Most likely there will be a UI (Splatoon itself had lots of UI-less mockup footage pre release) but I was hoping to see if they'd have the minimap on it. I guess you'll need to press a button to bring it up and touch a location to jump to but that doesn't rule out a minimap.

I can't help but wonder how superjumping is gonna work in the next game. Pressing a button to pull up a map and select which teammate/beakon sounds a little clunky and slow. A touchscreen peripheral would work but that would be pricey, then allowing Wii U gamepads to work with it would be fine too but that seems a little unfair for people who never owned a Wii U.

What do you guys think? I don't think they would completely remove it, that would be fucking stupid.
