I'm not going to say this art is bad, it's anatomically correct for an actual human, or at least a comic book human, but not for let's say, a rabbit.

He's not "killed off", really.

From the games' perspective Chip is only as "dead" as Tikal: a spirit sealed away somewhere. And Tikal's around in the comics; she's around in THIS comic.

In fact from the games' perspective Chip is probably MORE alive than Tikal. Chip is explicitly "just sleeping for 10,000 years", whereas the ending to SA1 certainly implied to me that Tikal is ascended-to-Heaven-nevermore-to-walk-this-mortal-plane dead.
