Prot pally will deal better (and be more fun) with single target fights.
If you have trouble with multiple target fights or keeping track of groups of 4+ trash mobs in dungeons, bear is good at carrying that but during single target fights you kinda just scrape by when in comparison.

They both get the job done, if you're picking one you might as well pick one to help you cover your weaknesses.
Bear is also super fun in PvP and nobody will be able to kill in open world, if that makes any difference.

Being purely a PuGshitter is hard work. I gotta make sure I am always ahead of the curve in item level and achievements so I still get instantly accepted to any group. And I also have to dedicate a lot of time to finding a group that isn't dog shit. But no matter how bad it is, its never as bad as being caught in the middle of whiny ass guild drama.

There are some plus sides too. I get to meet tons of different people instead of being stuck with the same autistic drama queens every week.

Mythic+ were a mistake. The balance is so fucking awful right now. Every Mage and Resto Shaman/Druid I see is decked out in titanforged Mythic+ gear. Meanwhile I get declined for pretty much every Mythic+ group as a Holy Priest. No one wants that shit in a Mythic+ and I dont really blame them.

I honestly feel guilty when I do get invited to one because I know they'd be much better off with a Resto Druid or Shaman. Especially when they dont have hero.

DPS while their HoTs heal everyone. Rebirth isn't just for when they "fail at healing" its for when other people fuck up and also for the plethora of one shot mechanics in higher mythics. They are also insanely mobile and versatile. They can stealth/shadowmeld and rez/etc.

Resto Shamans bring lust and tons of other utility, a very useful interrupt and can just never stop healing and never run out of mana.

Holy Paladins are durable as fuck which is good for higher mythics and bring tons of utility with their bubbles and shit.

Priests wear cloth and get one shotted by one lightning bolt from the Mystics in HoV +9. They have no utility what so ever except meme grip which is a joke. They also cannot heal on the move and since Holy Nova was nerfed they also do garbage damage.
