Is Yo-kai Watch 2 considerably better than the first game? I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I'm ready to jump back in so soon unless some serious improvement were made, especially with Pogeymans coming up next month.

A good tanker will make those kind of fights a joke no matter how strong they are. Their only aoe is the soultimates after all. Also the thing about Startle is that he's keeps getting stronger the more he kills, and yes his kill buff stacks. Not letting him get that first kill is key as things will only get worst from there, that's where the tanker comes in. Don't hesitate to use food healing items on your tanker if your healer can't keep up.

I have noticed that a lot more Yokai will randomly walk up to me even when I didn't do anything in battle to raise the befriending rate, but there are a few Mama Auras in there that won't be my friend despite me actually trying. It's weird. That Statiking that joined me was only given okay oden as well. I guess that's worth mentioning.

Overall I'd just recommend not forgetting your Superstar soul, bring the best food possible, etc.

Just get whichever has the most yokai you like. you can trade and battle whoever. the only difference is a few bony or fleshy exclusive yokai which you can trade to/get from your friends anyway.
