Also, you might want to invest into makeover kit because that includes exclusive haircuts, faces and colors. Those are 350 gems or around ~80 gold if you convert. Before the purchase you can try it for free in Lions Arch near Trading Post merchant there's a makeover preview NPC.

No, at least not for the initial character creation. If you're talking about a character already created, you do need a makeover kit to make any character changes. But if you're only starting out you could just as easily delete and recreate if you're not satisfied.

It's been about 9 months since I touched the game. I've never actually made it to leveling cap because all my MMO friends abandoned this game within the first month of release.

It's not that I didn't find it interesting. I do actually enjoy the gameplay quite a bit. I just never really got around to it and having my 8 friends who I normally play MMOs with bail on it in a matter of months after release really killed my initial drive. as the other anons said you get tomes with each rank increase, also you get to choose reward tracks now. Do you have HoT? I advise unlocking the bloodstone fen reward track via going to the bloodstone fen map - this reward offers decent cash because the items that it offers, such as items from the unstable lootboxes, the memories of battle, and magic warped bundles. You also earn blood rubies at the end (if you choose the blood ruby lootbox) which once you get 250 you can purchase ascended backpiece or other ascended items which is very handy!

Guys, can you tell me which class is better dragon hunter or tempest? For all game modes casual gameplay, a bit of everything but mostly PvE. I just got the game and tried every class on booster trial, so far I like guardian and elementalist but cannot test them with elite specs of dragon hunter and tempest. Want this to become my main.

Both are direct upgrades. I would argue DH is a bit more meta in PvP right now, but they've been nerfed before, whereas Ele has always been consistently good. Ele is also significantly better than DH in PvE since they can do everything.

Tempest would be better if your focus is PvE. Tempest tops the DPS charts for direct damage, though DH isn't -too- far behind on most targets, but does fall way, way behind when it comes to a huge mostly immobile fucker. They're also pretty good in PvP and WvW, though honestly I'd say DH wins out by a mile there - they're strong point defenders in PvP and in WvW they're strong as both the bulky, undying frontline and as roamers.

DH you might have an easier time surviving on solo in PvE as well, since you did mention doing this casually. Ele are amazing DPs but very fragile and you have to be paying attention in the HoT maps or you will die very, very fast. DH has a bunch of blocks to mitigate having the same amount of HP and extra armor on top of that.

Okay. I'm going crazy with this. I am having shit performance with guild wars 2. I have since I first started 3 years ago, but I am running pretty decent hardware and it's not even capping anything out. Any help?

I've noticed this game running poorly on a lot of machines since release. I figured it would improve as people begin upgrading to better technology, however I haven't seen much of an improvement, at least with me and my friends. The game isn't even running 60% of my CPU, 50% of my gpu, and it's barely running 6 gigs of my ram, but I'm scraping by with 40 fps in Rata Sum. I don't understand what is bottle-necking the performance.

That's the hardest map of them all. Horrible multi-layer and extremely annoying and ridiculously strong mobs. People avoid it because you cannot faceroll anything on that map unless you do it in a huge squad. And until you get your tunnels mastery, you're gonna have a very bad time navigating through that map.
