Look for an actual raiding guild or something anon, most of the time if a normal guild has a raid or two in it, it's going to be a dedicated static group composed of the 10-20 people who are

As to do dungeons, no one does them because they're not really worth doing anymore. They're not very good gold for your time even though HoT has powercreeped things so hard that you can burn through dungeons at a speed that we would never have dreamed of in the old days of the dungeon farm.

Nobody talking at all is a sign that your guild is shit and dead, tho. My guild has a pretty frequent hum of chatter throughout the times you'd expect to see it (NA primetime and even a bit during EU hours, though far less).

I get that people on 4chan tend to be poor at social interactions but not every group of friends is a clique, especially when the activity you accuse them of being cliquey about is one with limited slots that actually requires a degree of competence. People with a raid static raid with that static because they're friends, they want to raid with their friends (not some pug, not even some stranger who happens to be a guildmate), and to clear it comfortably.

People have groups of friends, friends like doing things together, when there's slots for content, people will take their friends over strangers they don't know if they like and can't trust to e positive presences. That's not cliquey, that's how human beings work.

I'm sure that in an actually active guild finding people for something in the open world, or doing stuff that requires way less investment like dungeons or fractals would be easy, they're not activities that involve herding 10 decent players into one place for a couple of hours.

You can't do raids without ascended gear on a fresh brand new character (well, actually you can pay some raiding guild so they'll carry your ass). That's how it is and there is no other way. It's not a modern WoW, here is no LFR and you won't be spoonfed with raid content. If you want to do RAIDS then start off with farming fractals from level 1, leveling crafting, getting yourself full ascended gear and ONLY then people maybe will be willing to talk with you about doing actual raids.

If you want WoW LFR experience then just join world-boss trains in LFG - that's pretty much the same LFR-like experience and has zero requirements.

So, quit bitching and farm or go do something else as raids are just a small fraction of content this game has to offer.

Guilds arent always a free ticket for friends or help... some are specifically here to help~ but many many others are more gathering spots

When it comes to raids, I would highly recommend doing as anon says and learning first what a match is like through videos and learning what classes are used and why.
Even I, someone whos been playing for years and have gear ready to go for most metas, wouldnt dare attempt a raid without peeking at a video of a basic "how to" to know of major attacks and events that happen during it, though I do that to be more polite and as a sign that im putting effort into it.

And I too kinda agree that when it comes to friendships and such... you simply cant just join in and hope people to accept you. I dont understand why people like

Mesmers are alright but they shine bright when you get chrono. Then you have the ability to turn your team into a bosses worst nightmare~ with alacrity, quickness, good power and condi builds as well as having possibly the most block/evades of any class, its hard not to enjoy it greatly!

Though the hardest thing to get used to is that youre not nearly as strong as another class in terms of solo... youre more of a magnifier. But that doesnt mean youre no slouch when it comes to bopping people yourself.

It takes a lot of effort to set up raids, especially if you are new and the group doesn't know how good you are. For my guild, we finish the raid in one day and usually run a make-up raid for other group members who missed it. If you are a new raider you need to wait for that raiding day to see if there's a slot. If you are inexperienced you need to ask for a training raid.

See this is something a lot of people just don't do, then complain that "they can't raid because no one lets them".
Actively trying to sabotage a run by trying to go for a clear without first putting your own work in (which is EXTREMELY simple to do, youtube/dulfy/reddit are all great resources to learn the encounters) is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in the game. When I started to raid I made sure to say that I didn't know what I was doing, I've only watched videos (though like 10 times each because I can't stand embarrassing myself) and yet people were nice enough to let me come. I fucked up on Gors the first time, got super upset because I ruined the run like 5 times, yet we cleared and I learned.
Always make the effort originally, don't expect people to just WANT to put their time into you. You aren't special. The encounters are not that hard, just learn it and be sociable. I don't know why this community is so entitled to think they deserve a spot in raids when they don't put the time into learning them in the first place.

TL:DR
Learn the encounters, go on training runs. Don't think people will let you play if you don't put some initial effort into learning.

I wouldnt suggest that kind of guild unless you already knew the basics

Just find a more friendly guild that has more laid back people, perhaps ones that wouldnt mind showing the ropes
AARM (apocolytic Armageddon) i think is one that may help, they tend to have tons of people and seem to be easy going while still doing hard content

For the future though, try not to get upset just because one guild was not good or rather overreacting in general, especially in a guildchat
Ive seen way too many people blow up over small things in gchat and they just get put on ignore lists

Conditions DO deal fractional damage. If you go from 6 seconds to 6.5 seconds, you get an extra half second's worth of damage out of the condition.

As a result, I'd say the difference between 96.6% and 100% is minimal. You're probably concerned you won't get a full second out of a bleed/fear/torment/etc tick, and thus lose out on that 'fractional' damage, but it's included, rest assured.
