I actually play horde but i've played with the alliance guys before. These threads are often just filled with shitposts from a few annoying fags, the guild in general is fairly chill.
Keep in mind any /vg/ guild from any game until the end of time is going to contain a certain percentage of socially inept weirdos. On the average I'd say that there are more friendly people from /vg/ than other private server communities but that's just an opinion.
A huge chunk of the guild is raidlogging at this point so that should be a bigger obstacle for a new person than the shitposting.

Just like any private server guild, there are going to be some underage kids still learning how to communicate without sperging out. It's pretty normal and you'll be fine.

Sure, but if it happened there is really no chance of them not starting fresh. They'd be losing a ton of people interested in a fresh start as well as new people who would be turned off by too progressed of a server.
If they relaunched they'd want to pull in as big a number as possible, anything other than that and they'd get the "see, people weren't that into it and these numbers prove it" thing.
I could be wrong, but especially after the attention that the shut down got and considering how much publicity them re-launching would get, it would seem impossible for them to not start fresh to get the max amount of people.

I agree, but i don't think that's the demographic they'd be gunning for. Private servers have a shitload of jaded veterans who will complain about every server -- not saying that's you, but it is the type that sits on the wowservers subreddit all day bitching. Those same people would go there either way anyhow, but nost was a little unique in that it's popularity got a ton of normies and casual players involved, much more than private servers had before. Even now there are lots of retailfags who have no clue about private servers but have heard of nostalrius. A fresh launch would pull way more of them in and make a bigger number.
I could be wrong, just making assumptions based on what i think the nostfags are going for.

When Vanilla released I was 12, played it a little (~lvl 25) but I'd like to experience something at least somewhat Blizzlike now. If I started know with only a knowledge of WoD+, would I be left in the dust? Still lots of people levelling in the lower spectrum of things or mostly at cap?
