There's a difference between those and basically ever western AAA release + FF XV, Pokemon and TLG.

GR2 is on roughly the same level as most of those January releases in terms of audience size. Same can't be said in Nov/Dec.

I'm always understanding of delays, but this is probably the closest I've gotten to getting pissed off at one. More for personal reasons than anything on Sony/Japan Studios head though.

I really enjoy them, personally. In concept they're the typical JRPG - party of misfits goes on an adventure to save the world. What makes them great IMO is the combat which is action combat with combo systems. You unlock abilities and they can be used individually but also you can perform combos with them. Each game in the series tends to play about with this in different ways too.

Also the fact the series always takes the time to characterize the cast beyond their simple presence in the story. There's a lot of skits and side scenes that are there just to give the characters personality and show them in more light hearted situations. IMO this is FANTASTIC because it makes them more likable and gives more of a sense of adventure because it makes it feel like there's more to them than just driving the story along.

That said a lot of people dislike how "anime cliche" the series is and in general the quality of the series in various aspects tends to vary heavily from game to game.

If PS4 is your only option then you only have access to Zestiria which probably isn't the best starting point because of some of its issues, though technically you can start anywhere that isn't a direct sequel.

Can't comment, I've never been much to agree with the concept of "anime cliche" in general. Tales does tend to run into some specific story elements often though (there's often a traitor/deceiver of some kind in the main playable cast, for example). Can't say it bothers me though.

The game looks alright and feels alright, but everything you do is pretty generic for an 3rd person open world game.
The world is pretty fun to explore if you like that sort of thing.
Missions and story are pretty heavy on the pandering, so if you are the type of person who hates women and blacks, you will hate Mafia 3.

PS4 version in terms of stability is good, I haven't had any problems with it.
I'd definitely recommend it for a rent or when it is on 50+% off.

I'm playing bioshock infinite now, had it on ps3 but never got the dlc. Owning the dlc unlocks a bunch of shit forthe main game. Within the first couple of chapters it pretty much lets you fully upgrade one of three main stats like your health, gives you some of the best stat boosting clothes in the game as well as a great deal of cash.

this almost feels like pay to win cheating tbqh. it was the same thing with alice madness returns and the outfits you could buy. speaking of which it's a shame american mcgee went bankrupt, another alice game would've been awesome.

I just bought earth wars/earth's dawn on the jp store, and I can safely say it's definitely the PS+ game for next month in the west. $20 title, game is but a few hours long with grind making up the rest of it.

combat is great, but the actual store is just plain bad, it's generic trope shit like "aliums taking over city x go murderize them", over and over and over, very little enemy variety, maybe 6 or 7 alien types in all, bosses included, palette swaps later on, but no new moves or anything. Most enemies early on end up sitting still waiting for you to fucking melt them, then later on they get stupid fucking combo break skills to destroy your damage dealing capabilities unless you really heavy hitting tech attacks.

Mercenary kings is a metroidvania RPG sidescroller kind of thing, customizable guns.

souls games, romance of the three kingdoms 11, DW8empires/xl, natural doctrine. It's a third person shooter, but you might enjoy earth defense force 4.1, attack on titan is an interesting take on musou (wouldn't recommend paying full price, i'm sure it's dirt cheap physical by now).

So I'm buying a PS4 Pro and don't give two shits about 4k, but I'm finding it really hard to find videos of the few games they did list that were getting patches about the differences you would have at 1080p mode. inFamous First Light was the only video I saw and that was mainly screenshots of the thing for most of the video and the only thing you could tell was they increased the amount of fog. Has anything else come out to show the difference at 1080p between old PS4 and the Pro?

New to ps4
I know they marketed this thing as an all-in-one media machine, but I've always been kind of scared to use a system for games and tv/movies/etc.
Is it safe/healthy to leave the system on for long periods of time to play vue/netflix/media files when I'm not playing vidya? It won't overheat or anything will it?

Trying to free up an hdmi port by getting rid of my roku.
