In my experience a 750CP Tangela with vine whip/solar beam has been able to kill a 1332 Slowbro with confusion/ice beam (I was using it to train a gym). Even fucking up the dodging and getting hit directly left him with enough life to use solar beam and end the Slowbro. I never used it again though so wouldn't know. Will test further in the future.

Fuck, this update broke the game for me somehow.

Every time I click on a gym, the game freezes up for a few seconds and then stutters and jitters for a while when I try to scroll through the list of defenders.

If I click on a wild Pokemon after leaving the gym screen, the Pokemon sounds are fucked. Every time the Pokemon makes a sound, the Pokemon cry goes on infinite loop even after the Pokemon is caught. Sound made on first encounter, sound made after every ball swat, etc. They all stack on top of each other and go on infinite loop so it sounds like my phone is having some sort of mega seizure.

If I never click on a gym screen again, I'll be fine. But it's like having face down cards on a card game in real life, I can't help myself from not checking every 2 seconds when I'm idle.

Somehow, Niantic manages to break shit nobody asked them to break. This is great.

Great Balls are more effective at higher levels but when I'm actually in the city and swimming in Pokestops, I'm just going to keep throwing Pokeballs at the 300-400 CP Pidgey.

If I'm back home for the night where there is no Pokestop in visible range, I might decide to gamble less.

But I never really throw away Pokeballs or think to myself that they're not worth holding, even compared to berries and potions. It throw out potions and revives by the 50s because I just get so much of them and trying to burn them off as much as I can doesn't help.

Before, if you mash the screen in the middle of an attack animation and stop before the animation ends, the Pokemon's just going to stand there like an idiot because it just ignored all the attack commands since it was already in the middle of doing something else.

Now it'll queue up one more attack / dodge if you do/press anything in the middle of the animation. So if you want to just mash the screen and dodge at the last second, you're out of luck because you're going to attack instead of dodging. That's about it.

From what I can tell, the lowest possible from an egg is 10/10/10 and the highest is 15/15/15. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think I've ever seen an IV under 10. Silph Road probably has better data than the ~50 eggs I've cared to document.

When are they fixing the gym crashes? God this is so annoying. The game crashed for me after fighting a friendly gym to level 10. When I got back someone already placed his mon and I got locked out.

They broke Power Ups somehow.

They fixed the bug where if you're sorted by CP and you power up a Pokemon and they move up on the list, they don't swap places with some other Pokemon.

BUT

Every time you power up, your Star Dust total and Power Up values don't change at all so you have to quit to the Pokemon list and then re-select the Pokemon in order for it to update.

Somehow, Niantic just went out of their way to break everything just to add a sneaker animation to incubators.

This is what I did with TWRP.
1. Go to recovery
2. Mount -> Check system
3. Advanced -> File Manager
4. Delete system/bin/su and system/xbin/su
5. Flash magisk and phh's super user for magisk while you're still in recovery
6. Reboot

8. Install magisk manager found in the magisk thread

When is it actually worth it to start spending Stardust?

I'm at level 27.5 right now,, sitting on 500k stardust, but my best Pokemon is an Exeggcutor at only 2059 CP and I run into players two/three levels below me with 2300+CP Pokemon in gyms constantly. The IVs on these guys are all solid, usually in that 10-15 range for each value, I just never end up powering up anybody because I tend to be a hoarder and I know Stardust is a bottleneck resource.

Plus, I have the worst fucking luck with rare 'mons. Of all the Snorlax I've caught, the best was only at 1548 CP with a 0 HP IV, my only ever Dragonite is 1375 with Steel Wing, and I've never seen a single Lapras.

Because a higher CP 'mon is a good deterrent for normie players and you get to put yourself higher in the gym hierarchy. The bottom Pokemon on each of the gyms around here tends to be at least 2000 CP, I'd rather not be the first to knock out every time.

I can make like 10k-40k Star Dust a day. I'm busy all the time so I usually only make a casual ~15k a day, but if I go at it all day (e.g. ~12 hours of farming) I go like 30k-40k.

And I spend that shit all the time on my favourite Pokemon and battlers and space fillers. I find that hoarding that shit is just pointless if you're making a shitton of dust a day. Sure, if you're a ruralfag who can't make that much dust a day, it's understandable.

But if you're some faggot hoarding dust while romping around Santa Monica pier all day or something, it's pretty stupid and retarded. People rant about how you'll eventually catch better mons and sure, that's true, but that's not going to stop me from leveling up my Pokemon so I can keep the Mysticfags in my town in check.

I'm lv 28. I have about 7 Eeveelutions I keep topped off right now (2 vapes, 1 jolteon, 4 flareons) and a handful of extra Pokemon too (battler or no battler), and still have spare dust to bring up some of my lower CP high IV Pokemon some low IV favourites.

If you're making a ton of dust, do whatever the fuck you want. I am a very compulsive hoarder so I know why people would want to hoard, but there is zero reason to hoard in this game. The reason you want to hoard Star Dust is so that you can splurge your load on a good mon to max level in one shot but given that you only need a couple hundred k to max out a Pokemon from lv 1, there's no point in hoarding so much in this game. I used to hoard until I did the math and realised I didn't need to. You evaluate your star dust income and decide for yourself what you want.

One thing you can look at is the fact that you get 100 xp and 100 dust for every wild Pokemon you catch so exp requirements for level ups give you a good enough ballpark on how much dust you're going to collect before hitting the next level up. It doesn't account for shit like eggs and catch bonuses but that's why I said ballpark.
