At first I didn’t want to do this post because I usually like to stay out of discussions / conflicts but I just really wanted to get this out of my chest.
First and foremost…
HEY!! MY NAME IS “ZAYLAH” and I’m relatively new to Blazblue, I was introduced to it by a good interwebz friend of mine that runs a fighting game club / gaming café in Sweden because I was looking for a new series of games to play or as an alternative a Visual Novel and wadda ya know, Blazblue has the best of both words, sweet.
This was a year ago and I've been loving it until the 24th of of August.
Lulzy enough I started with the anime and the way he got me to play the game as with… Simple pushy everyday nudges, since he knows I have a ponytail fetish he showed me a lot… And I mean a lot of Celica from pictures to videos, and then in his troll like Hazama manner he told me of the rather confusing and hard to follow story, which I love, and I was hooked, super duper hooked.
Now to be completely honest I was very, super, hyper skeptical about the dub because… Ya know, usually when animes get dubbed they are pure and utter garbage. Thankfully this was not the case.

Biggest problems with KoFXIV online are just things like disconnect freeze bugs and search not working the way you want, not netcode, anyways.

Should I replace my TN monitor to an IPS one? The least lagging monitors seem to be IPS ones according to DisplayLag and they also provide better image quality, which isn't a major requirement for me (play mostly fighting games) but you know, the eye demands its willings.

At the moment I have an Acer H243HX. I know it's a TN LED monitor, but there isn't really much info on the internet about its input lag (but I would presume it's overall pretty low).

What's the standard monitor adopted by major events like Evo and such?

This is the sad tragedy of niche fighting games. In SFV there are so many players that there will always be players around your skill level. But niche fighting games don't have that. So it sets the false notion that said game is very hard and not beginner-friendly at all. When in truth it's what happens in every game when there is a seasoned player against a scrub.

14 is my first kof and it's not so hard to get into once you grind out short hop execution. its not that hard combo wise for most characters either. only thing throwing me off is kof match up knowledge, like i don't instinctively know how to punish an iori rekka like i do a shoto tatsu, but that comes with time.
