How many circles are you going?

Snatching is the best skill in your kit, it absolutely murders all flying-type monsters. Rush Dog scales on your pet's stats(everything else uses your stats) and has low cooldown, but it's the one skill you can sacrifice points from if you need them elsewhere. Coursing Lv1 is enough for now but if you PvP you'll want more points in it. Praise is pretty useless right now but they buffed it in kTOS, might get buffed again. Pointing is useless, but if you're not getting more ranks in Hunter I suggest you put 1 point in it(it can fix the pet when the AI breaks and makes it stop following).

Hounding turns the pet into an anti-stealth machine, and you only need 1 point in it. Retrieve is a shorter duration Coursing that drags the monster, and it does higher damage as well. Growling is okay but it's exclusively PvE. Doesn't work on bosses.

If you PvE, get Snatching to 8 or something. If you PvP, you can put more in Coursing (but it's buggy so be careful, you'll see for yourself with just those 3 points).

Growling is okay, does almost nothing in PvP though.

It feels like Coursing/Retrieve do not last their full duration in PvP, though I haven't checked in depth. For PvE though, 1 Coursing and 5 Retrieve seem to be more than enough for me.

Respawned at Owl Burial and rushed down to Kateen at 12:57. Right as I dropped to 0 hp the game stopped for me at 12:59 and it didn't even register as being dead.
