I just started playing the day before yesterday and I'll only reach 110 today. Chances are I won't be quite there yet gear-wise when the raids open. For a random guild, obviously not, but not for my old guild from vanilla days either.

Blood DK has infinite self healing (And without the best sustain/self heal in the game) and will often out heal the healer and shits out aoe damage constantly, pulling extra mobs will just give him more runic power so he can do more damage and self heal even more.

also he gets deaths grasp which would be useful for positioning mobs, if 90% of all dungeon mobs weren't fucking immune (thanks blizzard) But atleast it's still great for singling out a target in pvp and pulling them over to your gank squad of melees.

in PVP they're probably some of the best tanks for the PVE content, since they deal with missing/CC'd healers a whole lot better than most tanks. They're also close to impossible to beat in a duel if played correctly, but will get bursted down/CC'd to death in bigger engagements.

Unholy can also be pretty fun in pvp, just for the sheer amount of aoe damage they can do.

If you're not going Blood DK go warrior

the only challenge you face as a blood DK is how little effort is required

i played an outlaw and this is my opinion, True bearing is great, especially with broadsides, SIW is good for the crits, but you want TB and BS, you blow your big CD's and dish out your damage, then spend as many points as possible before TB runs out, this way you have huge burst and very quick cool downs. this allows you to use them a lot more often.
an ideal middle roll is TB, JR, BS, pretty much 5 combo points off each sabre. so your barrage or killing spree is used a lot more if you prioritize TB for the reduced cool downs. But thats just what I find works for me
