Truthfully, the reason I asked was because I kept changing my mind about whether Papyrus should have his "hair" up or not in the plan.
On one hand, I feel the plot necessitates it, but on the other, it looks a little silly and people don't really like it. When / if I start uploading it in a few months' time when it's ready, I'll have to make a solid decision. When / if that time comes, I hope everything will go okay.

Actually, the "hairstyle" itself is more of a reference to Gundam Build Fighters.

It basically represents a "nerf" for Sans' and Papyrus' powers in that it's a mutation that seals their abilities off.
It was more significant in Sans' case so that he wouldn't be able to interfere with battles as much, and also serves as foreshadowing to other plot points.
For Papyrus, it means that he can't use his bones and has to adapt to more of a direct fighting style.
Papyrus doesn't get affected as much, but because Sans gets the "hairstyle", I thought it would make more sense for him to get it as well.

Oh definitely do a genocide run! It's a lot of fun. Once you finally beat Undyne you feel invincible and then Sans reminds you why you aren't. The Sans fight is also fantastic at making you feel determined. Really recommend you try it. As for fan games I've only ever played the Red fight, which is great, too. Give that one a shot.

Well first, I really would recommend playing the game. It's not very long and playing it yourself as opposed to watching a let's play or reading a synopsis will give you a better feeling for the characters, I think. As for Undyne, she can use magic (as can all monsters) and she summons magic spears, she is very physically strong and is captain of the royal guard. She is loud, abrasive and enthusiastic, and a secret dork (she likes anime). She cares about protecting her people above everything else.
