Because from what I've seen it's working up to be a pretty good and faithful Undertale clone. Unitale was fine for battle, but I want an actual fangame. While I'm worried about "too many chefs stirring the pot" it seems to be coming along very nicely. Any AU can shit out some decent fanart and music, but rarely do I see actually good gameplay, like how I've seen with Undertale Yellow.

I've seen nothing to put my defense up at it yet. In fact it constantly being beaten back from its demo release deadlines fills me with more confidence that they are making a quality product, even if it annoys me that it should have been out 2 months ago.

If Mettaton being the underground's star for a long time is any indication, Alphys' taking over must have been long ago enough for everyone to have set that shit in order.

Also long enough for Papyrus to like him, so probably Before Papyrus arrived, whenever that was. After Chara, but before Frisk. No real frame of reference there.

I've heard a rumbling from someone on the inside that all of the game's routes will try to be "Canon" in their own way, which means, for better or worse Worse. Toriel and Asgore are going to survive this game, even Genocide.

But this may be due to being an aspect of Justice. You might literally not get the ability to fight Toriel, if she never makes herself into an enemy.

As for Gaster, we've had literally no hints as to him being in the game at all, not even one. However, some people think "Red" from Undertale Red might be in.

Within the underground. It's entirely possible that the reset mechanics don't affect the outside world, were confined to the underground, or were just amplified from being concentrated in one place. Otherwise the most determined human could reset whenever.

Frisk didn't actually defeat Asriel though. He gave up. Asgore would have to destroy all humans to avoid going back to the beginning with even more monsters killed. If there is duty to fulfill, Asgore won't accept mercy until close to death when fighting Frisk. And don't forget that Asriel holds back. He kills Frisk in one hit many times as Omega Flowey once he's done pretending to lose.

Not really. Even Undyne dies in one hit once you get enough LOVE. She becomes Undying, but she is an exception. No one else does it.
