I mean, I wouldn't mind, but when you get ragged on for all of your calibration matches when none of the were willing to even switch heroes or stop trickling in like piss on a bonfire it really puts a dampener on ranked.

That and I won 5, drew one, lost 4 and I pretty much got just a little less than my last calibration rank for season 1. My season 1 was 53 and I climbed to 64 this season I've started on 2600.

I wish I could get to diamond but it is extreemely difficult when every game my team has the stack with golds and diamonds that have bombed in rank.

Unfortunately the only people ive come acroos that I had as friends briefly were extreemely memey etc. I would like to play with people that try and win a little seriously at least.

I was a bit miffed that Tracer only got one new emote in the last patch when everyone else got two, just because she already had a laugh emote. Then I got over it and realized it was nothing to worry about. This game was released not even four months ago, there's plenty of time for everyone to get cool new stuff.

At certain levels, aka MMR hell/Elo hell/whatever you wanna call it, your random teammates are so much of a crapshoot over whether you get teammates that understand the game or have no understanding of the metagame at all, that winning in solo queue becomes a dice roll, because your performance can only have so much impact as a 1/6 in a game with so many variables

At higher ranks, where the meta and pick rates are a lot more streamlined and theres a much higher % of players that understand the game and can play proficiently, these "crapshoot" games become far less common, and your own personal performance becomes a lot more relevant

Example:

At rank 2500, its pretty much anything goes. Nobody understands that mercy is shit still, nobody understands that 9 times out of 10, 76 is a worse McCree.

Nobody understands proper drafting, when to pick which hero on which map etc.

Actually, nobody isnt true, there is a % of players that may have played poorly during placements, played with lower ranked friends, etc.
These players understand the game, but are in the minority and are stuck with players that dont. These players are lower than they should be but struggle to climb because of the randomness of low mmr games.

And then we have the inverse. At rank 3500, most players understand the game balance, proper team comps, strategy, and have much higer standards of mechanical skill. They are in the majorty %

But there are still outliers, those that played their placements with higher skilled friends, got very lucky etc. And these players have an impact on the game with their lower skill

But they have a much lower impact due to being in the minority
