Well, I feel guilty about anything directly related to the actual game, this thread is mostly void of that luckily, I feel this for several reasons, first of all I daydream about the characters often, and I insert myself into various situations, theres a part of me that knows the characters would never like me, and I'm using the very idea of the characters for my own selfish wants. Second of all, I played the game incorrectly and realizing what I'd just done made me feel terrible after a certain nightmare I had. I skipped most of the dialogue, ignored the characters, never used the phone pretty much, treated it like an rpg without a story, I completely missed the point of the game I only spared characters because I needed to get the ending for sake of closure on this game, I hated the asriel fight, I didn't even appreciate the music. I played through the game mechanically, then had a legitimately terrifying nightmare that more or less made me realize that I completely missed the point of the game, and I regretted enjoying genocide and completely ignoring the characters, they all had their own charm and place in the story, and I skipped that, so essentially, I didn't even play the game.

That's exactly what I don't get, I'm clinging to a dead game that I didn't even properly play and purely played because I was recommended it as an RPG that was SMT inspired. Maybe it's the idea of the characters I liked, maybe it's the fanart, maybe it's how passionate others are about the characters that rubbed of on to me, the fact that I relate to a few of them helps too.

Don't do a 1:1 recreation of the layout. I have seen how it looks in other cases like with Minecraft and it doesn't look very good (not just because it was in Minecraft) because the town is designed with only one direction of view in mind.

To be fair, translating the fights to writing is a rather difficult thing, so I'm not surprised there's some liberties taken.

I tend to think of Undyne's green as simple rooting, while the blue gives some telekinesis-like effect, but since both use the soul, the color change is the visual effect for both sides to know what's happening. Magic damage translating into physical damage is also something I tend to roll with.

Battles get a little more leeway from me in this regard, though only as long as neither party feels too massively overpowered.
