Look, you don't sit through hours of dialogue you can't read and go looking for their translations one by one, only an idiot would even attempt to get through an rpg that way, you'd easily double the play time. Once you're out of the range of the prettier resources like the videos, you look up what you need to, only when you have you and you have absolutely no idea what's going on or what to do and some garbled machine translation can't give you a better idea.

You're not reading a book, or even playing a VN with a text hook, going through a game like this is serviceable. It's never the same as just playing through it in your own language, and it isn't supposed to be. But, I can see why you wouldn't want to go through with this, because you're really hung up on immersion and won't accept anything even slightly less than what you'd get out of the game normally.

Persona games are without a doubt text heavy, but the emphasis is never on the prose, if you know what's going on it's enough, and the higher quality resources are there for the parts where that isn't the case.

Like, if you were going to play Bloodborne this way, I'd say you're a moron and to just wait, because in that game the quality of the flavor text is a huge part of the experience (to some people, pretty much the only part that matters). Persona is a totally different deal.

If you're really okay with waiting the 5 months, then that's fine. I'm almost completely certain that you aren't, though. You should see some of the shit VN players with fansub put themselves through, this is hardly an outlandish or fundamentally fucked up way of playing a game.
