I know we "killed him" in TBC. But we actually didn't, since we never saw a corpse. he just kneeled down and maiev did her thing. Which was shown to be capture+imprison him and later release him.

I normally don't care about lore but this seems like a massive fucking mistake or failure to clarify something for once.
