I'd like some advice.

I'm doing an arcane build with the Kos Parasite as my arcane weapon, a fire Saw Cleaver for beasts, and a Tonitrus for kin.

Anybody got any suggestions for a bolt weapon other than the Tonitrus? Not that it's bad, just wondering if there's something else.

This gem/chalice stuff is immensely confusing, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Also, I've been doing some research and apparently a Cold Abyssal Gem +22.5% Arc is the shit. Would it be a good idea to replace one of my other Radials (Arc scaling +65 OR 23.1% Arc) with it?

Steak can/should either go 50 STR/25 SKL or base STR/SKL reqs and 50 ARC with elemental gems. For a Rifle Spear build you should go 50 SKL and 25 BLT if you really want to use the shotgun form. If you're not bothered with the bullets you should probably go 50 STR/25 SKL with heavy abyssals or 50 SKL/25 STR with just normal 27.2's

I believe there is a precedent for that, but I can't remember what game set it. I think having AotA for DaS changed Knight's Honor to include Manus' soul weapon.

I have all base and dlc tools and no I checked my inventory.
When i got the messengers gift I didnt even have them all and it popped up, but when i actually got them all and checked my trophies it says i still havent earned it.

Chalice dungeons should have been:

>More bosses, bigger and more difficult. Not 5 watchers in a row or in some cases just regular mobs with a health bar

Chalice dungeons are too short and grindy and would have been amazing if they were treating as group raids with greater potential for complete failure.

All chalices need is visual variety instead of the exact same shit with filters. That's most of the problem is being visually disinterested, there's nothing to look at and that's a huge problem in a game where everything is stylistically excellent. If Pthumeru, Loran and the Hintertombs each had a unique style, then there'd be much less of a problem. They don't need to be WoW dungeons or some shit.

Not a direct solution, but fewer dungeons does mean more visual variety. I agree completely though, a large reason the dungeons are so tedious is because there isn't anything to explore and no sense of anything in the environment being significant. That's strange given that the dungeons are canonically where the history of Bloodborne is richest. Roots of blood ministration, fallen civilizations, all that, and those things just aren't presented well.

I hear you. What I'd like is a happy medium between the current "Summon to trivialize bossfight" and "get rekt solo" deal with Souls bosses, which is obviously player dependent.

So a solo offline player could summon decent NPCs or take on the boss alone for a challenge and win if skilled/geared enough, or a group of less skilled players could attempt the same and still be challenged.

Right, so bosses now are die on your own until you learn the fight, or just summon someone and waltz your way through. That's the state of co-op, excuding fun runs with your buddies.

I'm suggesting bosses where co-op is the norm, solo play is for skilled players facing challenges. So bosses with mechanics meant for teams of two or more with narrow windows of escape for solo players. e.g. a channeled attack that can be mitigated by two players using the healing bell, or a solo player spring backwards a fuckton.
A mechanic like that encourages people to work together (if one person rings the bell and the other doesn't, one takes damage) without completely fucking over solo players.

Seems adequate to me. You'll get insane damage out of LHB and HMLS if you get base ARC req for it. If you're looking to use Heavy Abyssals, I 100% recommend moving 5 points to STR. Heavy Abyssals are incredibly powerful gems with 50 STR. Otherwise if you're only interested in using 27.2's, the build is fine.

Anyone know if a cooperator can kill Yamamoto or whatever his name is in the DLC behind the locked door? I know it's possible to kill him with ravioli Cutter R2 through the door without having the key.

Saw Spear or Church Pick are better as beast-slayers. They're both serrated in both forms, rather than just in one like the Cleaver. The Pick also counts a Righteous, so it gets a damage bonus toward more things.

Sure, parrying lanterns is the best way to deal with them, but you miss and die, or you die from frenzy on the approach, or die from frenzy while waiting for the parry window, or get the parry and the frenzy doesnt damage you until the animation is over, at which point you die.

No, just use the tricked hammer mode.

The frenzy meter keeps building up, obviously, but as long as you have enough stamina, you can stunlock them till they drop dead. You are, of course, forced to tank the frenzy damage.

There's a distinct difference between low-tolerance and shoehorned bullshittery. Good enemy design is a challenging enemy beaten through prep (appropriate level and gear), mechanical skill, and character placement. With trusts and their frenzy stack, parrying at the right time in regards to the frenzy stack is the best and only consistent way to kill them, and it's still high-risk. The problem isn't that it's difficult, but that regardless of build or setup, it's the most consistent option. With trusts, mechanics like dodging (frenzy still stacks), rallying, stamina management are next to useless. Blue elixir/beast pellets do make them easier to deal with, but items like those should be supplemental to a working strategy, not necessary FOR a working strategy.

So yeah imo brainsluts look cool but fighting them is bullshit.

On the rare instances when I'm not playing Bloodborne, I usually spring for any of a variety of rogue-lites- Darkest Dungeon, Risk of Rain, Binding of Isaac, Crypt of the NecroDancer to name a few- or, though I haven't played it in quite some time now, Skullgirls.

But it's mostly just a non-top Bloodborne train as far as my vidya goes. It's honestly kind of a problem. Bloodborne has left me numb to so many other games I used to enjoy just by how phenomenal it is in comparison.

A whole lot of things! Right now I'm playing Far Cry Primal and honestly really enjoying it because I haven't played another Far Cry game and stone age settings are rare as fuck and awesome. Used to play Oblivion and Skyrim a lot when I had my 360 (sold it and my 50 games to get my PS4), Dragon's Dogma, some Xbox originals, a lot of shooters and hack n slash and action games. Have a PS2 and a bunch of games for it, had DMC (then again for 360), Darkwatch, God of War 1 and 2 (I think 2 is the best one), Silent Hill 2, a bunch of others. Bought a second hand Xbox for 5 eurodollars and get to play Morrowind in the worst way possible, but damn it it's still Morrowind! Also Halo 1 and 2, the best Halo games in their native habitat, Arx Fatalis which I've been ignoring, Panzer Dragoon Orta which looks amazing even today, Serious Sam and some others.

It's fun, but the RNG really turns me off from it sometimes. I've got about 40 hours logged and haven't touched a champion-level dungeon yet, and I'm terrified to try boss fights, not because I'm afraid my heroes will die, but because I'm terrified of going through the drudgery of waiting for the right archetype to show up in the Carriage and then levelling them all the way up again.

With all that said, I do like the game a lot; I wouldn't have put 40 hours into it otherwise. It just has some shit that really sets me off.

I found that playing through the game on 1.03 patch had no issues with glitches trophies. I'm not sure if you can revert to that specific patch, but if you can, just play through the whole game up until the chalice dungeons and last 1/2 weapons. Then do those, followed by the DLC and you've replicated the exact way I platinum'd the game.

All shooters are just shooters. If you want to look at it like that, Bloodborne's just a hack n slash game with neat details and can be as button mashy as you want. But it has depth, as did Halo 1 limiting you to two weapons so you had make pretty important decisions on what to carry as well your regenerating shield but not regenerating health. A game is more then gameplay, it's art design, story and general atmosphere or tone.

Halo 2 had a ton of weapon and enemy variety, more varied and dyanmic vehicle sections, dual wielding of weapons I think was done one of the first time times in Halo 2 and it had the vehicle hijacking mechanic, which you could pull off and so could enemies. Granted I think I enjoy Halo 1 more because of what it is overall, even though 2 might have some neater gameplay elements.
