Separating it into normal/hard was a pretty understandable decision for them to make, even if it might not have been the right one in hindsight.

A one-size-fits-all raid worked out perfectly in BCoB, because the game was new enough that even the world-first contenders at the time weren't really THAT far removed from average players, but by the end of Final Coil there was such a sharp distinction that the top-tier players had cleared the raid before they even got their tomestone weapons and were starting to complain that it was too easy, while people who were on the low end of average basically found it impenetrable.

At this point I don't think it's really avoidable to do a Normal/Hard split, but they need to go out of their way to make the Hard mode special. A8S having a completely new, extremely flashy last phase is a good start, but ALL the fights need to have elements like that, the Normal mode gear should look shitty compared to raid gear (not just be undyeable), and they should reverse it story-wise so that the Hard mode version is made clear to be the "real" story, and Normal mode is the non-canon Minstrel-ish thing.

Let me make the point more clearly: The way that things were headed, by the end of ARR, the community was almost certainly going to be just as split as it is now, because the skill gap between the people who went on to be satisfied by Normal Mode, and the people who went on to actually succeed in the Hard Mode, was already too large for a single tier of content to accommodate them both.

The difference, had they not made that split, would have been that either the "Normal mode" people, or the "Hard mode" people, would just have nothing to do.

You basically can't queue macros, so using macros as a DPS is a horrible, horrible idea. Never ever do that.

As healer though, you're less worried about uptime, so queueing isn't such a big problem. However, it's also a good idea to be able to use the GCD queues for when you need every single second, which is the reason for having duplicates - a set of GCD heals un-macro'd, and a set macro'd to <mo>

<mo> on ogcd isn't a huge deal, at least in my opinion - I usually only use those when I'm on the move and can't afford to stand around casting, or to nuke-heal someone with my more powerful healing spells - all of which, arguably, are going to do the brunt of the healing faster than using gcd heals.

Yes but winning regularly in R-300 means you need a perfect Chocobo. R-240 gives you like 20 MGP less but breeding a Chocobo for that is easier and the enemies are more easy as well.
You just need the amount of stars where its growth stops right before they kick you out of the racing class.

Will this games community ever get better?
The lack of mid core content means you have to deal with people who are god awful at the game all day every day who will kick you for some random phrase in what you said hurting their feelings.
If you do end game you have to deal with turbo autists who will blame you for their mistakes and kick you from the party as a scapegoat for their retardation or your static will fall apart from weeaboo drama.

There's no winning here other than to get a group of friends and never do anything without them.

You act like they didn't have to redesign most of the fight anyway. All they got to take from 1.0 were the raw assets for the fight, and Extreme requires almost nothing new in that regard.

I'm pretty sure the reason they don't triple up on primal fights anymore is 90% because the dev-team are thin-skinned babies who overreact to any criticism. A few people cried that the original few Extremes were "rehashing content", and they stopped doing the third version of every fight, even though 2.1 was literally the only time since ARR launched that the game has really felt content-complete.

I've been bottling this up for a long time but, this is to someone who knows who they are. I just hope they read this.

I'm so tired of over-feeling things. I'm tired of being jealous and petty. I'm tired of starting fights with my FC mates because I need their attention constantly. It's so understandable why they gets upset with me when I split and tear them down, but when they finally have enough I just go into this horrible and intense suicidal rage on myself. I sit in the bathroom and just repeat things like "worthless" and "stupid" over and over, completely convinced that it's finally going to be the night I kill myself. I'm tired of waking up the day after extreme suicidal feelings to be happy and feeling wonderful knowing that it's only a limited amount of time before something else sets me off.

I'm just exhausted. Mentally and physically. Constantly. I'm just tired of being tired. I know it's not going to get any better because I've been like this for so fucking long and it just keeps getting worse. I know I could get help but I hate people and I'm terrified of them. I know the doctors want to help but they're going to put me away if I'm actually honest about how often I'm 100% certain that I'm going to kill myself before the night's over. I can't go to a mental hospital. I feel like I'm heading there fast though. I'm either going to get unwillingly admitted or I'm going to die. I don't know what to do anymore.
