oh man, I've had a day /hbg/. Was posting a little bit earlier about having bought pic related and fretting over its 11.0.0.33 firmware. After a few anons gave me words of encouragement, I manned up, put arm9loader on a 9.2.0 I had, bought fieldrunners, did the system transfer, did the downgrade, did arm9 on the new 3ds. It took me the full day with breaks and minor procrastination but I'm finally running Luna, downloading and installing games en-masse as we speak. Thanks /hbg/

My 1000 put so much strain on my eyes at night while playing that I would get headaches, it's too bright on the lowest setting. Then outside you can't see it for jack shit. It caused my hands to cramp up so much I had to buy a grip for it.

The lower brightness on the 2000 on the lowest setting and it being much more comfortable for me to play is the main reason why I got it. It's not even a bad display either, it's still vibrant, but I'm used to my N3DS display which also has an IPS top screen.

If I had to get rid of one, I'd get rid of the 1000, but I rarely sell any of my game systems. It's always a backup in case my 2000 suddenly breaks.

At what firmware should I buy a 3ds for the least headache in getting homebrew and pirated games working? I was looking through the guide and saw stuff about needing two 3DSs or needing to solder at higher firmwares. Am I just retarded?

I gladly take worse contrast when the 2000 display causes less strain on my eyes. I play my handhelds almost exclusively in bed at night. I remember playing Danganronpa on the 1000 at night and getting a bad headache because of the strain it was putting on my eyes. Probably a case by case basis. I could imagine Sony's knee-jerk reaction was to go Fort Knox on the PS Vita considering the PSP was hacked so early into its lifespan. Making such a secure device guaranteed very limited piracy for close to five years, which is better for developers and producers when we don't get their product for free.

However, with the recent hacks, I do expect Sony to move some of their stocks of Vitas and memory cards that have been lying around unsold in the US.

There's one here and some google doc I found somewhere with a lot of overlap in words .

For one I can't use XAMPP, and I'm not sure why the guide is written to use it anyway. I put up an nginx server and pgp and I get some sort of unable to load file error.

I noticed the loadiine guide in the OP lets you get to the homebrew launcher/loadiine via someone else's site instead of your own, though. Isn't there something like this for smash mods? Also one of the dl links at the start of the smash modding paste goes to a deleted file on mega, but I got what is probably the same file from the google doc version of the guide I found.

Can I just ad sdcafiine to my homebrew launcher somehow or something? The documentation for Wii U is so much worse than 3DS that it's just unbearable to go through all this crap. It's really unclear what's going on.

there's no best PSP model except for the Go and some people dislike it.

the 3K has the 2nd best screen out of the bunch but it has scanlines. the 2K has lower contrast but no scanlines, ghosting though.
