The real problem is that an adult would have seniority and thus MC couldn't be the boss. Even in 3 the one year older Mitsuru and Akihiko were in charge, with MC just being the field boss.

In 5 Makoto and Haru are older, but they're also going to end up introduced later in the story when MC and the main 4 are going to have been theiving awhile.
