The idea here is that, while you COULD target ban someone with five bans just at them, you're now letting all the other members of the opposite team get their preferred picks, not to mention that the other team will probably catch wind of what is going on by the second or third pick and could strategize against that. On top of that, it's likely that the top five picks on your top and the enemy top have a lot of overlap, so you could be hurting yourself just as well unless you have an unconventional top pick lined up, which is a net positive for game health.

How exactly do I stop nasus? I kicked his ass during laning phase, got several double kills on him and his jungle by myself as mordekaiser, but because my team was struggling I had to go help out in teamfights. By the time I returned to lane nasus had gone full autist and got tons of stacks and was a tanky fuck with a q that could cut me down to half hp easily.
