Two of my friends suddenly want to try out this game in the near future. Last time I played was when Tokyo was released and I believe I got somewhere around level 50 BO with some level HU. I figured I'd start out with a fresh character on a new ship with them, although I was never exactly that experienced to begin with, so a few questions:

I know, 'ded game', but... what ship should we play on that isn't Ship 2?
There seem to be more ways to get gear and new weapon grinds. For efficiency's sake, what kind of gear/EXP grind progression should we aim for? Still beeline Red weapons crafted/Ep3 Hiei set/AQs for starters? I'm not expecting us to not be shitters, but having an idea of what to aim for is still nice.
I don't know what classes they're going to make, but I was thinking somewhere in the R-ATK realm of SU, GU, or RA for myself. What do I need to know and what should I start with?

I kinda forget a lot of the game, so some advice may help jot my memory and make sure they don't end up sucking in return.

Ship 2 is your only option if you don't know Japanese.

Reds still work but the game hands out so many 12* and 13* weapons that you'll usually be able to get something else at least as good by the time gear becomes relevant.
Have to buy Hieis off the player shop now. Move on to Saiki for end game.
VHAQs/SHAQs are still one of the best sources of exp. Tokyo bonus missions are extremely good at later levels if you happen to find any keys.

the primary ships are 2 and 4, but if you have friends to play with then you can just pick any ship, really. A lot of the content is easy for pick-up groups to clear, so having a team isn't so important anymore.

Collection Files are the new method for collecting high-rarity weapons. Red weapons will still work as a placeholder, but the priority isn't as high anymore.

I'd recommend focusing your resources on one atk family, so since you are interested in RA and GU, make r-atk gear, and focus on maxing those classes first.

RA often subclass HU or BR(mostly HU so you can massive hunter and charge PAs), and GU mostly subclasses RA, since killing bonus and standing snipe synergize well with the class (and you have a pocket weak bullet in case there isn't another RA around).

Go for it if you REALLY want one of them with no actual expectations of getting them.

Paratizel is definitely the strongest E frame, at 190%/180%+50% power if CP > 50, but is hard to use effectively at its full power with 310 element since you don't use rigid units that give a CP cap boost over reeds. If I had to use a 30 cost weaponoid I'd want Yamigarasu (for C frame, it got dual element dark/ice affection bonus), but after pulling that worthless eq weaponoid on a 30 roll, I'm just going to save all my thousand or so medals for the weaponoid carnival in a week or two.

Weddle park gives something like 60-70 element when it activates and lets your normal attack inflict poison. That's it. No general power boost, no chase hit, no special frame. For 18 cost. Literally the shittiest weaponoid to date.

How are Ethan and Karen's 13-stars? Good enough to start XH with for Hunter and Fighter with?

Are any of the Weapons Badge 2016 13*s worth getting?

Nope. The only "reliable" way to do it is quite tedious, and involves locking everything, looking at the library, and then unlocking those which you've released and don't want to keep. Eventually you'll release them all, it just takes a long time.

PD is kinda bad for that considering arks buff gives essentially a permanent (low level) PP convert and massive Hp boost. Of course you don't need automate when healing guard heals you for more than the boss damages you. That PP regen boost is actually the main reason why Fo is so far ahead of other classes, since they gain the most from passive PP regen.

But that's wrong. Hunter has more dps with aggressive enemies just thanks to PP regen from guarding (and that sonic arrow) + ignite parry dominating any other sword PA with its DPS.

MPA situations are where openings take the biggest portion of the time. Many bosses don't even get out of stun phases. You can even dump Over Ends as glass cannon and face tank since the enemy often won't get the second attack out. JG Sonic Arrow alone does more DPS than your usual Super Armor Sword PAs.

Because Twister Fall requires you to hit the entire shockwave which is kinda long. It's exclusively short twister than needs to be performed from the air and has poorer DPP too. On bosses generally you would want the entire shockwave to hit the weakpoint which is often pretty small for it to actually do that DPS.

Potato faces can usually be solved by making the face not-so-round. Either change the head shape so they axis sliders are higher or the x axis sliders so they're close to the center. Should fix most of the issues.

FAS faces should be able to be fixed by moving facial feature sliders higher. Shouldn't look so weird then.
