I found a strange bug in automatron, I just finished taking over the mechanist lair and went back to sanctuary to create a full robobrain, everthing went well, named the thing Judas and gave him full upgrades, but I noticed his name was not showing up anywhere.

I dismissed him and tried calling him back to the robotworkbench, but he is no longer showing up, I can still call him to travel, but the thing wont show his name, I reloaded a save and tried again, and now if I mod anything in a new robot it will stop showing even the default name and become forever impossible to mod in all settlements.

Instead I get to watch bottle and cappy laughing and dancing while my settlers try to battle deathclaws or the occasional all consuming fire, its too fucking creepy.

I made a Vault tec lunchbox looping machine.

Unfortunately:

The items that came out went straight to workshop instead of the sorter I made so that was neat I guess.

I tested it for around 10 minutes, got 5 nuka Colas, 1 noddle cup, 3 gumdrops, 1 sugar bombs, and a lot of plastic and steel. Its neat but I don't think its worth the hassle unless you get lucky with the drops.

If you want you can just walk inside RR HQ and kill everyone, later when its time to decode the chip the doctor in the memory den will tell you to use tinker tom computer to decode the chip.

The only thing you will truly miss is the ballistic fiber upgrades unless you use mods.

Just a shame you cant capture glory and mindwipe her into a perfect slave, whats even the point of joining the institute if you cant have your own synth....

Not necessarily. In Libertalia they just bullied caravans and settlements for money. Same with the raiders around Bunker Hill. Raider is a very general term, but it always comes back to getting what you want by being stronger than others. But the others do this in their own way as well.
A gangster does, but he usually has some alternative code of honor and a list of things he has to do to still be more than a sociopath in his own eyes. A mercenary is similar to a gangster, and sticks strictly to the idea of "just following orders" and just doing what he was paid to do. This is pretty general obviously, but my point is that a raider is only different from these groups in that a raider has no honor or twisted code of criminal ethics to justify his actions.

Its probably RNG because I have 13 luck and still almost always get plastic spoons and forks.

I have never found a fusion core from a lunch box. Then again I have never found a robot model from them either. I think I maybe got one 1 cold quantum from one.

This requires mods but with a pitching machine, synth grenade, and robot butcher device you can actually get lots of circuitry, aluminum, steel, copper, etc from gen 1 synths. Even without the robot butcher device its basically free institute weapons anyway.

This would probably be more feelsy if they didn't tend to say this when said comrade didn't get blown to a million pieces.

The fact that enemies are supposed to show comradery in their dialogue makes me wish they showed it mechanics a bit. Like it's possible to put an enemy into a 'downed' state before you can finish them where their allies might rush over with a stimpack and such.

But that's wrong friendo. For me raiding is all about taking shit, whether it be from humans, robots, ghouls, or mutants. Killing the owners is so they can't raid shit I was might want to raid and so people know I've already raided this place. Raiding the same place and people over and over takes the sport out of it, at that point nothing is standing in your way and you're basically being handed the things instead of taking them.

My biggest problem with Nick's story besides the Winter thing was just that it didn't truly feel like Nick felt like he was able to separate/surpass the original Nick or accept his status.

But maybe that's because we basically never got to see anything about the original Nick besides what our Nick tells of him and one holotape of someone else leaving a message for him.

And yeah, okay, the list does have a lot of great people. Especially Daisy and the Vault 118 people.

But I feel like nothing too much would have been lost if Kent was someone who was born post-war and discovered the Silver Shroud as a beacon of hope and such. The Triggermen aren't bad, but it bugs me just slightly because those ghouls might well have centuries of criminal experience: why are they listening to Malone? Let's say nothing about Kid in the Fridge.

I'm kind of iffy on the Cabot family. I LIKE the premise, but it felt too obviously supernatural. I know the ship kind of sailed a long time ago (like, maybe even Fallout 1), but I like the idea of supernatural elements in FO being a little bit more understated and leaving doubt that maybe you're crazy.

(My idea way of doing the Crashed alien thing would be to have it crash, be able to contact your faction about it, you see them retrieve it, then the next time you sleep and check on, it's gone, no one knows what the fuck you're talking about, there's no sign of the crash anywhere, and your only proof is the alien blaster which mods itself to standard fusion cells, so maybe the blaster could just be a weird laser pistol.)

But honestly, this is just me talking.

In a place like the commonwealth where I can rebuild all settlements by myself and rule like a god being a raider feels a little pointless.

You can put robots to work for you forever, but even if you use human settlers, those guys actually believe they are free so they will never run away.

I have yet to play nuka world, but from what I see you can only play pretend raider with radiant quests, no capturing settlers and making them work 24/7 on your tato plantations, no torturing any wannabe fugitives to set a example, no raping female settlers or whoring them out.

I don't think a triple A game will ever have the balls to show what truly means to be a raider.

After a long, well deserved rest, Jim decides to explore the basement and figure out what Vault-Tec was doing to Malden Middle School.

In hindsight, it should have been obvious.

It seems this vault had new residents, however. A gang of raiders that dressed themselves in military garb. Jim would have left them alone if they hadn't shot at him first and basically alerted the whole Vault.

More of the raiders awaited him on the lower levels, but Jim's newly awakening operator skills and a little luck saw him wipe the floor with them.

From what Jim could tell from various terminals and research notes left scattered about, the vault was mostly children. He really didn't like where any of this was going. The lower 'lab' levels seemed to be designed to train the children for combat.

The truth was actually much much worse, as he found when he gained access to the research area and the overseer's office.

Water can't become seriously radioactive, Which is why it is used to cool nuclear fission plants.

Filtering out the soluble radioactive material, salts, heavy metals, dust and other fallout makes it safe for consumption. It's just a matter of filtering all the radioactive material out, which can be difficult, depending on the contaminant.

How do purifiers work anyway? I always have times when I have 100+ water in my settlement stash and sometimes none at all, and I never change the ratio of my food/water production. I know NPCs feed on the shit you store in the stash, but why is it so random? I have like 30 supply lines, am I pissing water into settlements I don't care about?

Yeah. All your settlers need to drink water. So just build assloads of them and every linked settlement will have water, and you'll have excess water as well to craft things with, or sell. Same goes for food.

If settlement A has no food, they will eat food from settlement B if they are linked. I don't have a problem with food being short though, pretty much all my settlers farm.

Basically lunchboxes you craft from the builder can be punched and opened for materials. Normally they can't be picked up again after this unless in settlement mode. If they go into a container they get fixed and ready to be punched and opened again.

The workshop storage + hopper + belts can make an infinite loop of them to keep punchin

With some fancier building you could probably make several of them going through the belts at once to maximize loot

Water is an amazing radiation barrier. The water itself is not what you have to worry about, its the particulates in the water holding on to the radiation. The water pools in power plants are fucking impressive and their are stories of damn near meltdowns happening and divers being in the water pools doing emergency work but come out just fine. As long as they stay near the surface all is well, hell even a few feet down. Its when you get to that last few feet of the pool around the reactor that you are fucked.

"purified water" may just be that, the regular water that has been run through a filter that gets all the radioactive dirt out. The worst fuck you to science that the game series has made is the radioactive oceans. We dont have enough nukes on the planet to make the oceans radioactive. If we detonate all the nukes in the world into the ocean then life on the surface would be fucked. Two hundred years later however the oceans would give 0 fucks and bounce back just fine. Hell with us out of the way they would be better than ever.

The lack of underwater exploration in this game is a fucking crime.

I know that it's possible to become enemies with the minutemen with this DLC.
It's possible.
But I don't want to become enemies with the minutemen (I haven't done the minutemen ending yet and i dont feel like starting a new game or anything.)
So what steps do I need to take to avoid that? I've spent the last day getting settlements on my side and I want to play throught Nuka World in a way that:
A: Avoids pissing off the minutemen too much
B: Avoids taking over too many settlemts (especially the settlements I use)
Also, If you DO get locked out of the minutemen ending, what happens? I heard you get defaulted to the institute ending, but what if you're already enemies with them too?

Power armor and/or very high stealth with shadowed armor.

High Agility and Strength for the "DR while sprinting" perk (forgot the name of it), Pain Train, all the good Endurance stuff, and for Blitz.

Make sure to mod in a fix for the Big Leagues perk (Rank 5 reduces your damage instead of increasing it).
