I was a little dissapointed that they didn't add any new ranks to the intimidation perks that make you basically like Big Boss and have any enemy pacified join you indefinitely. Captured Raiders / Gunners become settlers. Tame creatures become settlement pets.

Oh and before I begin searching Nexus, is there a mod that makes settlement creatures more productive? I have 30 something Deathclaws on Spectacle island, and while they're good for defense, they don't do much else. Is there a mod that lets them produce deathclaw eggs?

This would actually make a really good Mirelurk farm, too. They produce eggs, use eggs to catch more mirelurks, kill and butcher the rest in the contraptions machine for free oil!

There is mod that adds chicken nests you can 'harvest' so I'm sure you could do something like that for deathclaws. You wouldn't need a deathclaw though, it would just be like a plant you can harvest whenever the zone refreshes.

I like fallout 4.

I've played almost 500 hours, about 440 of which was a single playthrough where I did everything.

I'm looking forward to Nuka World, and I did enjoy Fah Habah and Automotron immensely.

I like Todd, even if he exaggerates. Some of his business orientated decisions have negatively impacted the hardcore rpg fans, but the general success of the brand is something I enjoy, and I recognize that his choices have been to that end.

Aside from the occasional blind molotov killing me, and getting one shot by weapons that don't allow me to also one shot people, survival mode makes the game more fun for me. My first 440 hour playthrough was the hardest difficulty but not survival, so my second playthrough I'm on now has something to keep the game fresh.

I already have 100 mods, even though most are minor things, and I'm constantly impressed with what modders do. I admire some of them a great deal, and have a great amount of respect for some of them. Obviously some people just reskin something or just make a house using vanilla assets and those people are lame but in general, I very much look forward to what will come in the future.

I love fallout.
I love videogames.
But most of all, I love all of you.

If i had the choice to make FO4 and future games have fewer locations but much deeper and refined systems i'd do it in a heartbeat.

I've spent roughly 100 hours with the vanilla game around release and, in all honesty, can't think of a single element that lived up to my expectations set by my first impression. Even the best part of the game, the level and world design, fails to fill the massive amount of locations and ruins with interesting content. It was bad in previous titles but not as bad as in FO4.

For example when i explored the glowing sea for the first time i thought i was going to find all kinds of high level loot and dangerous creatures, simply because of the danger posed by the radiation, but no, the occasional deathclaw, bunker and craters all over. Apart from the Atom guys and the main quest there really isn't anything there.

Or when i started building settlements for the first time i thought this was going to affect the whole game. I thought i'd see important NPCs visiting and settlers coming to me with their problems and i could actually affect their lives with my decisions and they'd comment on what i did. Power grids shutting down during radstorms, acid rain leaking through holes in the roof, settlers getting sick and i'd have to hire a doctor which would open new mechanics.

I'm talking about depth here. FO4 touches on everything a little bit but explores nothing in a deep and significant way. It's not a bad game, far from it, but a deeply disappointing one.

A lot of Fallout 4 feels half-baked. They introduce a lot of concepts, but don't touch upon much of it.

The voiced protagonist, for instance. It's not really enough to build your own character with, nor is it an interesting enough protagonist to warrant the omission of character building dialogue. Nuka World attempts to remedy this by adding back in perk-specific dialogue, but it's a bit too late. I have a moderate amount of faith that Bethesda returns to a silent protagonist in the next game, since I honestly think Todd takes some of this into account.
