2bh i'm fine with the art outside of the cows. i think the unusually huge tits and tits-molding shirts look like absolute shit and goes against the game's more sober design philosophy (they were bothered enough to give the characters realistic hair colors instead of dunking them into paint). it isn't like this wasn't already a thing in the prequel but it seems they're just cranking it up even harder this time

Kind of.
Game relies a lot on chaining attacks and know your limits. You need tanks and DPS and know when to attack and retreat, and also to exploit the system.
You can beat any stage without enemy taking action, but have one character out of position and it is Game Over (you automatically lose if any of your characters die)

Would I like Ys 8 if I didn't like Ys 7?

My Vita is pretty much a Vanillaware machine. Love it. What else is worthwhile on the console if you're not huge into weeb RPGs? Honestly, 2017 is better.

Viatgen being Xseed dicksuckers willl tell you 2 is better.
It really shows that 2017 is an xbox 360 port and 2 is a PSP port.

2 has a shockingly-small draw distance and an absolutely horrible vaseline filter.

2017 has a wider range of FPS, so can run faster but drops lower, where 2 is constantly at a bad frame rate.

The vehicles in 2017 are WAY better.

While this was kind of a bummer for Ikaruga I really didn't feel like it effected my movement much. You can still move around the arena just as fast by holding down O and dashing. I never felt like I didn't have enough dashes, except with some of the heavy hard hitting characters that move notably slower.

As for the ''end-lag'', again it's not something I really felt like was a problem. Most of the time I'm chaining in to juggles to keep the combo going rather than just pushing Square all the time so I rarely ever get to the end of the ground combo. There are characters like Daidouji where I will stay on the ground in favor of air juggling because her end ground smash is so great I don't really need to unless its a boss or something, but even then her (and many of the girls) transformed combos work pretty well on the ground.

The guard thing was bullshit I'll give him that one.

The Super Armor thing is a thing in both games not just Estival, though I feel like its easier to deal with in Shinovi. Its been a hot minuet since I've played but most if not all characters can juggle on the second hit of a standard combo which is one of the only effective ways of dealing with major bosses Like Asuna/Ice tits (Her name escapes me) at the end of the game. Really the only enemies that have no hit stun in EV make since to me. The larger enemies and those turtle shell ones and really why not?

World of Final Fantasy’s aim is to introduce younger players to the series with its cute art style and simple mechanics, but billing it as that alone seems unfair. I worry that pushing only that aspect to the forefront will have some fans sleeping on the title, opting to forget it for this year’s main entry to the series: Final Fantasy XV. In a similar vein to Kingdom Hearts, World of Final Fantasy seems like something a younger generation can use as a stepping stone into the series, while those before them reminisce in the overwhelming nostalgia of familiar faces, icons, and locations.

What I played on the show floor wasn’t very long, but the game easily became one of my favorites of the convention. The artstyle is charming, and the pastel environments looked like something out of a child’s coloring book. The two main characters, Reynn and Lann, could be swapped on the world map. The two characters also had access to a Chocobo for speed, forgoing their more realistically proportioned designs for the chibi look every time they saddled up.

The real love I had for this game came when it reintroduced what feels so far away in modern Final Fantasy titles, active time battle (ATB). Of course, it’s not entirely the same, but a fresh spin on something so familiar felt more than welcome.
