The whole point of the fight is go balls to the wall and kill each king before the next one can spawn, otherwise you're totally fucked. Their attacks don't even do that much damage, as long as you don't waste time by getting grabbed or tossed around by their explosion, you should be okay.

It's why Beatrice is such a shit summon (besides the fact that she can get stuck trying to kill ghosts and can fail to follow you down to the Abyss), the kings are resistant to magic damage and she deals only magic damage. If you can find a friend with good physical DPS then it can be a fun fight, but not with Beatrice.

I started with DaS1, but never made any progress with it (and to this day, have only ever gotten 3 lord souls before leaving the game for months, then starting fresh when I returned).

However, I usually count my first "true" Souls experience with DaS2, where my build ended up being Vengarl's set, Broadsword, Drangleic Shield, and my rings were never set in stone, I just put on what I felt like.

Run a greatsword with 1h thrust and an offhand rapier.

poison is great at low levels for high wall and settlement invasions
old wolf cgs is actually the second strongest in its class for invasions as buff triggers very fast if you hit multiple opponents, plus it has full true r1-l2-r2 combo, not to mention the gimmick of giving the main hand weapon an effect of both pontiff rings if held in offhand
both farron and wolf knight can kill people really well outside of passive, boring pontiff duels
dancer twinblades is the only thing on this list i can agree on though if they will give it more damage it will become awesome as it has faster 1hr1s of big curved swords

Getting invaded as a Gravelord is quite common actually if you leave your sign in an open spot, only problem is initially telling who's an actual victim or a Dorkmoon when they arrive.
As for being gravelorded myself, extremely rare and only reason I did get Gravelorded most of the time was testing it out among other /dsg/ posters. Gravelorded TotG turns into an actual horror game.

The new "default knight"-set looks damn good though imo. It's got elements of Fluted,EK and Nameless, but is clearly it's own thing. It might just be my favorite out of the bunch too. I still like how EK was imo used in lore better by having important people from Astora wear it but in pure looks the DS3 Knight set is the best.

Is black fire orb's damage better than forbidden sun? They seem to do around the same damage in pvp. I know forbidden sun is a lot faster, but bfo costs less mana, can be free aimed better, looks sexy, and I assume maybe more damage because people typically have less dark resist? I don't know.

It was a nice homage to O&S in the sense that both are supposed to be fought by teams, but are a LOT more fun and rewarding if done solo, it was a nice challenge (especially if you wanna clear the goats before the dickwraiths appear, then shank those two just cause before you enter the fight), and try to kill the third watcher before he starts shanking the other two
