Extend version usually has 2 new characters, and Jubei + Trinity are the only real characters left, since all the protagonists of each game are playable already except Touya but nobody on the planet likes Touya.

eh, i've been watching it since tag 1 and it doesn't get old for me. granted, back then i had no clue what the fuck was going on.

japanese players by comparsion have fucking amazing defense. kkokkoma's defense, for example, shot way up after he visited japan for a month or so i believe. obviously that's because of how aggro japanese players play, but ultimately the best development from playing against buttons-y aggro players is that you build solid defense. rushdown via buttons can, in theory, just be turtled out, but that's really hard to be consistent at, so koreans often try to evade to get punishes where there aren't supposed to be any (on safe pokes).

korean players often have trouble defending, but that's because they believe button-filled rushdown is too telegraphed to rely on, so it's just a bad feedback cycle or whatever the term is. jdcr is a pretty aggressive player, too, but he presses frame advantage in a different way, a patient way. hearing him talk about the game is really interesting. you watch him play and he almost forces you to make the wrong decision through like 5 moves and just moving around, and small decisions, like checking a dash or wavedash pressure with a jab or duck jab, is a huge mistake against him sometimes.

-Hits like a truck with 1st palce meterless BNB's that matches or nearly matches the 1-meter combos of the really shitty damage dealers like Kakyoin (he used to surpass it).
-Doesn't need meter for offense AT ALL. His BNB puts the enemy in a hard knockdown state that you can do any mixup he wishes.
-With little meter usage he can waste it on his time skip combo breaker which lets him do a mixup on you ( heh as ot do it ASAP to throw you off) and if he's adept even punish you if you are doing a high revolver move in a combo or waste a meter for nothing.
-his time skip counter version basically lets him approach projectile users for free and get a mixup which scares them into not throwing out too much or risk getting hit (granted Mista and Hol Horse do great damage and fight mid to close range).
-Invincible on startup dash. Not crazy but it has it's uses.
-Can cancel any unsafe moves because huge on meter.
-Has an air grab+ decent AA's which in an game with little AA's decent AA in a game with bad AA's in general is super good.
-decent defensive hha/gha.
