Because Rogue can only really empty their hand without access to huge/cheap draws or sticky minions.
Their dudes get cleared super easily and they don't have any way to close out the game.
The only real way they have to SMOrc face is to use shit like Sinister Strike or Eviscerate while buffing their daggers with Deadly Poison

If you mean the early game aggro "tempo" mage definition then the issue is that fast rogue decks are actually TOO fast. They dont have the slower and more efficient early game cards like Imp Gang Boss, Totem Golem, or 477

Personally, I'd drop Thaurissan for Antonidas and get some of that sick late game burn. Add a Conjurer in place of Memelands Portal so you have at least "something" on the field and a chance to draw an efficient answer/Cabalist's Tome for Memeball Stories ft. ArchmageA fuel.
2 Avians for the low amount of secrets are overkill, too. Dropping one for a Poly might be a good idea.

As I said, it's a work in progress.
A few of what is in there is the "autopilot picks" that you generally throw in that will give you value and/or is removal bait (like Thaurrisan - he'd be the first to go for Valet).
Antonidas is already in it.
Conjurer does sound nice, I'll consider it. I've just always had seconds thoughts on that card because of its health. Not very controlly for 6 mana.
I like the Avians for the taunt and the stats are nice if you have a secret. If anything, I'd put an additional Block in there to help get it earlier so I have certain procs.
Polymorph is definitely going in there, I forgot about it.
Effigy is just a card that I like. I feels it's undervalued. Especially in a deck that runs very few early minions. Plus, people automatically think it's Mirror Entity and play shit minions. Also, a lot of the minions I'm running are kinda techy. As in, they have good abilities so the stats are unusually distributed. So a good Effigy can really fuck the opponent (giving me something more vanilla) regardless of what I have on board. That said, once I've played the deck a bit, I may swap it out for Mirror if Effigy doesn't net me what I'm hoping.

There are two lists more or less, one with a straight curve that just goes raven/roots into druid of the saber and so on. It runs no ramp, just double innervate, and is a straight up aggro deck. It's very good against zoo or control decks that have no ways of keeping you out for long. It loses to other decks that can race better like hunter or aggro shaman, also any deck that can stall until it can reno or other big heal while dropping removals around is tough if they draw into what they need since you won't CotW your way back to the game and even if you manage to luck out into another warden/tiger, it won't be enough to match up to the big shit they start dropping.

The other is a ramp list usually with drakes and the curator, sometimes with teacher, that plays similar to regular ramp druid, only with a few more beasts like savage combatant and using warden for an extra board presence instead of a win condition.

I thought this idea was interesting from the last thread, could someone explain it to me further? How many games do you guys usually try to play per day? Do you spread it out in some sort of routine, or do you just marathon shit for X hours for Y number of days at some point in the beginning/middle/end of the season to hit rank 5 or legend?

I've been in the group of people who just sort of lazily play for dailies and brawls and nothing else, but considering actually trying to get legend for a change. I usually get mad and tilt similar to someone like reynad over bad RNG but maybe just tracking winrate and playing a lot more games (like maybe at least 30 a day?) would fix that, idk.

This is different from a lot of modern games, like Overwatch and LoL, which reward you with things simply from playing the game, regardless of whether you win or lost. In Hearthstone, you get absolutely nothing from losing a game other than experience for your hero if they aren't level 60. With that in mind, each individual game of Hearthstone is statistically meaningless because it cannot account for the high degree of variance that is embedded within card games and for random outcomes that affect an individual game in one way or another. What does matter in Hearthstone is your win rate over many, many games because additional games provides more opportunity for variance to sort itself out. The typical Hearthstone experience is to get absolutely crushed by poor draws one game, and to dominate the next game with awesome top decks and impeccable draws. Eventually, these two extremes will start to balance one another and you will achieve a stable winrate that is suggestive of your ability to play the game well. The more games you play, the more in balance these two extremes will become and the closer you get to your true win rate. So long as this win rate is greater than 50%, you will always climb the ladder given enough time. This is all assuming you're playing a well built deck and not some le janky zoo rogue xDD shenanigans.

tl;dr you have to play a lot of games, and the more games you play the less the outcome of any particular game will matter. most people will tell you to play at least 100 games with a deck before judging it but more is always better.

Every single thing in hearthstone is limited. Mana is limited so you usually can't turn around and win a game in a single turn. Minion space is limited, so the guy who has the most, doesn't always win. Health is limited so priest can't just become invincible.

Everything has a limit, except for how much armor you can have, which i find odd.

Armor should be more than something you play and pass. It should have strategic weight. If you have a limit on armor, you have to prepare for tusn where you have to do something else than simply tank up and pass. It forces the player to think, and to play according to their current armor. The ability to stack as much armor as possible makes some games a boring fatigue-fest.

The number of games I played in a typical day this month was like, 3 on the commute to work, 2 during lunch, 3 on the way back, or something like that. Hit rank 5 around the 10th with a zoo build heavily teched for burst, and then brickwalled at rank 4 because all my matchups became a lot worse when facing tryhards.

I marathoned the 5 to legend climb with aggro/tempo rogue during hunter week after the release of kindly grandmother, over the course of 4 or 5 days. Wasn't tracking my stats, but I'd guesstimate based on my current total wins with rogue that it needed somewhat less than 90 wins? Which, mapped onto the reddit thread about how many games it takes to get to legend with different winrates, fits well with 58% winrate and 150 games required. So yeah, 30 games a day sounds about right.

You won't always have the advantage of being able to perfectly counter the FOTM deck, but then again you won't always be playing a deck as jank as aggrogue and you'll have more than 5 days to climb if that's your intention. If you maintain a 57% winrate from rank 20 to rank 0 and put in 12 games a day, that should in theory get you on average to legend. But just to be safe you would probably want a higher number of games per week and a better winrate.

In terms of being mad and tilting, the key I feel is to have goals that don't depend strictly on your rank? Like, my rank is whatever my rank is, but my goals for hearthstone during every session were - improve the warrior matchup, improve the shaman matchup. I have a lot of board interaction, I know I can do better against shaman, how do I mull and tempo in smart ways to make them feel bad. And any warrior besides combo warrior pretty much shat all over my deck, so in my head I would have been satisfied with a 20-80 matchup in their favor; I was just happy to be able to dig for a way to win literally any games against a dragon warrior. And somewhere along the line I hit legend.

Also remember that in Hearthstone, or any card game for that matter, you have no control over the outcome of the game. All you can do is influence the game with the decisions that you make. For example, it's your opponent's turn and they have a Knife Juggler on the board. They play a minion, the juggle hits your 2/1 and loses you the game. And like the original anon said, if your coinflip win rate is 6/10 then you can still expect to lose at least the other 4 times, potentially more or less depending on variance.

He's only going to be played when in an already losing position and yogg consistently swings things to make every advantage and decision your opponent made irrelevant. Card advantage. Boars control? kind of, it suffer from getting OTK'd and burst damage in general. its not very proactive either. you kind of just sit there and wait until you nzoth for the win. against aggro they usually either beat you or concede before that happens.


I mean I was playing against nzoth pally with malygos/yogg druid the other day at a fireside gathering and he had just healed with rag up to 24-25 and I did 26 burst damage from hand with malygos. I mean its a extreme example but you have to be aware that your long games may just end up with you losing to random bullshit. Unless you dont care about that then go ahead.
