These.
It would be nice if you could make multiple settlements, bonus points if the ship was an OPTIONAL endgame way to travel across the whole world quickly, without any enviromental factors or food needs affecting the travellers. The settlements could also be a part of diplomacy which start out guaranteed as allied, but can detoriate depending on who's running the colonies. Raids on hostile faction bases et cetera.
Maybe more NPC colonies popping up as game goes on?

"Build ship to end game" is a really hamfisted end goal.

mortars feel balanced to me when counter sieging a siege raid because the pawns are spread apart that you'll hit someone around maybe 1/10 times if you aim at center mass

I want to cut a tunnel to the other valleys, but I really, really don't want to expose overhead mountain.

is there anything I can do? I've collapsed overhead mountain before, very very carefully, but that was when I had actually carved away at all of the outsides. I don't think it will be possible here.

After seeing this general i've decided to hop back into Rimworld. Whenever i try and get my citizen to manually pick something up (like the survival rifle you land with) the prompt doesn't show up. It only shows up if that citizen is conscripted. I noticed i can't make any of my players do anything manually. Is this a new feature? Using a bunch of mods btw

Val is our War Chief, which I guess makes him our regular Chief too. He and our healer Heron were lovers at the beginning, but she rejected his proposal and he spent a lot of time wandering around in a daze.

If it weren't for Heron holding things together and their reconciliation during a plague, the tribe might have been lost. But now he's back to his former glory.

And leading an expedition to check out this building!

Remove every other piece of rubble, the movement penalty is for 'climbing' them, not being on them, and they don't help as cover when not right beside you anyway.

You may want to make it double wide and place traps in a checkerboard pattern. Your dudes will walk around them but enemies won't. But, that would mean two come through at a time.

And there are always turrets.

Can someone give me advice on animals?
I love just to get some haulers and shit, but then they get bonded with the trainer and shit, than die because animals are dumb and get between the lines of fire, and if I don't have them with there master they get sad.

Should I just have an animal dude that doesn't do combat? I just want a bunch of elephant and dog slaves to haul shit and rescue dudes.

I will dispute irregularly shaped bedrooms as a malus until the day i die.

Rock walls are mostly just because it feels cool to carve a base into a mountain. Conduits are because of rock walls.

Equipment racks are because I don't want arms wasting space in my storage but I'm too autistic to ever let go of anything.

What is the point of battery switches and backup batteries? Do they prevent "zzrt" from taking all your power?

...And yeah, coolers? I need a way to keep my colony cool in case of a heat wave and in order to have a freezer. What else would I do? There's nothing else that brings temperature down, to my knowledge, although I haven't done a ton of tech yet.

So these fucking bugs appeared on the corner of the map and I was too busy to ever deal with them because they were never bothering me. Now the situation is completely out of control and I don't know what happens if I continue to ignore it.

I'd also recommend the Assault Rifle over the Charge Rifle because that tiny bit extra range is the difference between a Close-Mid range engagement rifle to just a mid range engagement rifle; both are fine on people who are trash at shooting.

It was fun while it lasted. Sent a clean up party to where the hives used to be. The bugs are so hungry they are eating each other. Blue lights slightly lower temperatures, so you might want to keep them in your food stores (assuming you don't have your butcher table there, since they also increase the chance of mental breaks). And green lights are basically the same, except they slightly increase growth speed instead.
